      A Birthday Toast

      We know we’re getting older when our hair begins to thin,

      Can’t remember what we came for, in the room we find we’re in.

      The cupboards seem much higher than they ever were before,

      And we have to get back up at night, forgot to lock the door,

      There are aches and pains all over and it really does feel bad,

      It’s strange they come in places that we never knew we had

      We have lots of medications, choose capsule, pill or rub

      No room in our cupboard so we store them in our tub,

      Please don’t be discouraged as you join our aging crowd,

      If you cannot hear us, turn your hearing aid to loud,

      So enjoy this brand new life style you are starting here this year,

      Dear friend we raise our glasses for a toast to health and cheer.
