About this ebook

The Seasons Of My Life Inspirational Poetry is an autobiography of my life's journey from infant to adulthood in a poetry format. These autobiography events include individuals who are dear or known to me, places that I have been or hope to see, and things that have occurred or I hope to occurred in my life. For instance, I have already lived through the "Late Spring" years of my life; therefore, I have already received Christ as my Savior and Lord. In addition, I am indicating what I anticipate or would like for my final Senior years to be like.

The Seasons Of My Life book is authentic and extraordinary in articulating my life in poetry format. It is a book that is exquisite for everyone (senior citizens, adults, teenagers, and children) to relate to during their four seasons of life. Its seasonal, and poetic events can or has occurred in everyone's life, and will stimulate everyone from all walks of life to live a prosperous life.

This inspirational poetry book is intended to inspire and encourage us to reflect on God's grace and goodness, and to appreciate our individual uniqueness & self worth. In all of life's explicit wonders and woes, our life was not created by God to exist, but rather for us to exist by God to create beauty in our world.

    DEDICATION

    This book is dedicated in memory of my grandparents:

    Asbury & Nancy Caffey, and Edward & Ethel Lewis.

    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

    I am especially grateful to God my Savior and Lord, for giving me this gift, talent, and the vision to write this book. It is also my desire to express my sincere gratitude to my parents, Frederick and Lisa Caffey. It was their love, sacrifice, and encouragement that instilled in me to persevere, and to be my very best in whatever I seek to accomplish in my life.

    REFLECTIONS

    When I decided to undertake this assignment in writing poetry, my prayer was that—Dear Lord; if writing this poetry is to be, then may I only reveal it to others through thee. I came to realize that you will never know if you can fly, unless you try. It was then I decided to trust my Father, the Potter, to mode me according to his own will. I imagine a dream of inspiring others to be all they can be in a world of possibilities. And to do all one can in using his/her mind, hands and talent to enrich the lives of others during one’s season of life. For we can either save or destroy lives by the words we say, or by the actions we choose to live.

    On Saturday, May 19, 2007 I had a Vision of becoming an author of a book. It was something that I had wanted to be for awhile, but I wasn’t quite sure I was ready. It was always my thought to wait until further in the future when I’m much older. Why always tomorrow? I will always be older than I was last year, last month, and even yesterday. As it’s often said—Why put off until tomorrow, what you can do today. Especially because tomorrow is never promise. It was with this thought that a tender voice said within me—You are as ready as you’ll ever be. It was on such a day as this, that I answered the challenge of writing this book. Unless I have believed that everything is possible with God working in me, not one single letter would I’ve dared to have written in this book.

    As I set out to embark on a journey of writing poetry, I ask myself—What in the world am I doing? Writing has never been my passion. It has always been something rather mysterious, untouchable, or the unknown to me. Even when I have taken a Short Story and Poetry classes in College, I was rather perplexed. However, poetry can become an exciting adventure when taken seriously. For me it can be very relaxing like a lavish massage.

    As I reflect back over my life, I’m reminded of the seasons of life that I’ve lived. With faith I look forward to the future of the seasons I hope to live, with wonders and expectations. A great writing about the Seasons of Life, which I’ve grown to love, was written by a poetic writer named King Solomon. With all life’s wonders and challenges, this certainly says it all.

    To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which was planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

    A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing;

    A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

    A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

    A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)
