Life lessons sometime hurt, and sometimes you feel like giving up. Please don't please know that you are loved and that you are a child of God and whatever it is that is going on in your life is meant to happen and that you will have a testimony from it. As long as we are still breathing we have a purpose here on this earth. These poems are just a few of the experiences that I went through that lead to me to the knowledge that I am loved by God and have job to do here on Earth.

In life we often wonder why we have to go through some many trials and tribulations. Well I finally realized why I went through so much, it was so that I can have a story to tell. My prayer is that my story can bless and educate others about the love of God. My life has been full of ups and downs that would normally brake a person, but because of the love of God and the strength that his love gives I am still here with a story to tell. I was born in Compton, Ca but I grew up all around the world. Seeing the world at a young age allowed me to be open minded and adaptive. My experieces in life have landed me here in Atlanta, Ga where I live with my 6 beautiful children who just happen the light of my life.

Several times a day

Several times a day

it’s easy for me to say

your name

several times a night

it’s easy for me to lose sight

of your name

and what it means

and what calling it can bring

several times a week

I sit alone and try to seek

your face

several times in a month

I go to a building with others who believe what I believe

but if I miss one of those times in a month

when I come back I feel like im out of the loop

I feel like I have to jump through hoops

just to get back where I was

just to get back in their good graces

just to see their once smiling but now frowning faces

but it’s you I come for

it’s you I want to adore

it’s your attention I seek

not someone who doesn’t care about

what went on in my week

just as long as I make it on Sunday

never mind the fact that I lost my job last Monday

or that an eviction notice will be put on my door next Friday

if I can’t pay my rent

and I can’t because that money is already spent
