PREFACE
In this Katrina flooded city, and surrounding parishes, plus the oil spill, gone from a chocolate city
where murder has become something of the norm.
Some people will be angry with me for stating the truth. But this is a fact, black on black crime every night and sometimes in broad daylight. Innocent blood has been and still being shed in the city.
Jail houses are filled with small time crooks as well as blue collar, and white collar criminals. What is going to become of New Orleans and our culture? Where will I get those fresh shrimp, and crabs to make gumbo. Should we allow the few
who could care less about New Orleans to win.
I say, NO! We must fight to keep and make this city a place to draw people to it, not flee from it.
GOD HELP US
Introduction
Shock
• The six am news reported that someone killed five people in one home while robbing them of money to support his heroin habit.
• Before noon that same day, someone punched a sixty year old woman in the face and snatched her purse. Why? To buy some crack.
• Turf Wars, caused by people who do not own any TURF.
• What is wrong when a kid goes to school everyday for twelve years, and Johnny cannot read?
• Women allowing men to move-in their homes, over their children, and later learns that he is a sex offender.
• After looking at what is going on in the world today, I decided to write this book. I am hoping to bring awareness to parents and others that they can make a difference in their families.
