She has extensive experience working with children and adolescents as well as with victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and sexual assault. Her personal motto is “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” A native of Atmore, Alabama, Teresa holds an associate of arts degree in social science education from Faulkner State Community College, a bachelor of arts degree in psychology with a minor in human services from Troy University, and a master of science degree in counseling and psychology from the University of West Alabama. Teresa specializes in research in the area of child abuse, sexual assault, and domestic violence, and her PhD research focuses on exploring the perceptions of intimate partner violence among African Americans in rural communities. Teresa is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and is also a member of the American Counseling Association. Teresa currently resides in North Carolina.
