    Introduction

This is a program about power. It is a process given to you, the reader, so that page by page you can finally answer the deepest questions that continue to stir within all of us, both consciously and unconsciously. Am I powerful? Where is the source of my power? Where is God’s power? And if I am powerful, why don’t I feel it long enough to make my life work?

These questions probably have been asked over and over in a variety of ways for centuries. Yet perhaps in the last decade or two, the use of power seemed to be more apparently destructive than constructive. In these current times, violence, terrorism, corruption, and natural disasters appear to be the common display of power. This constant bombardment of fear, danger, and the threat of unexpected turmoil can make us doubt ourselves and God to the very core of our beliefs.

Whatever we thought was solid and a promise for safety and protection has been dismantled one belief after another. Yet, somehow, even in the throes of disaster, the human spirit — or more precisely, the Spirit of God in humanity — prevails. Countless heroic displays rise up right alongside every major catastrophe we have endured. Regardless of whether it is a terrorist attack, floods, fires, earthquakes or students shooting other students, powerful miracles always arise.

So, what is it in us that makes wrongs into rights? What is the power that keeps pushing us forward despite the calamities and challenges? Is it courage or a natural survival mechanism? And is this power truly in everyone?

The answer to these questions must first pose another question. The real issue is not what is the power but rather who and where is the power that allows us to move from fear to freedom and from failure to success?

The response to this more valid question is as certain as our breathing. The Power is the Ever-present Presence of God in every inhale and exhale, and this Divine Almighty Power is breathing endlessly in our souls.

Even though this Power of the All of the Everything is always in us, our lives are laced with daily fears and numerous episodes of weaknesses. We mostly don’t know how to use and rely upon the Power of God and/or we are uncertain about how to stay in the flow of the Divine Light.

Within these pages, you, the searching, questioning reader, will find a direct response to these common, everyday dilemmas. Through this program, we will reawaken the truth about the soul, its purpose, and function. I will identify and explain the twelve basic soul lessons (power). Whenever I refer to a soul lesson during this text, I will be using it to explain a power in ourselves that we, in fact, did not know we had or forgot we had, due to the dulling from life’s experiences. I will put a simple and practical understanding to made in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:27). You will feel a firm new capacity for trusting God and the promises He/She intends to keep. I am the Light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the Light of life (John 8:12).

This program will give great insight into how we truly have been designed. It will offer a redefining of self that gives birth to a deep internal calm confidence. New definitions will be presented that will assist us in rebuilding our very foundation of ideas, so that we can move from decision to action with an innovative sense for our personal reality. We will redefine power, the self, the soul, and our relationship with God. We will become anchored in Her Truth and not our skewed interpretations.

With these new insights and definitions, we will venture through the twelve lessons or aspects of the soul. Every part of our life will be reviewed, from the way we see ourselves, to family, spouses, finances, phobias, hopes, and dreams. As all of the lessons become integrated, we will finally feel like we have been wholly healed from inside out.

With each unfolding lesson and practical accompanying prayer techniques, clarity of our true SELF will become better and brighter. There is a sense of reverence and healing that will be received from one chapter to the next.

From page to page, we will be uncovering your true SELF. Until we uncover the true SELF, we will never be able to Direct the SELF.

As we begin this journey, remember that what will change in you is NOT the REAL you, but everything that has kept you from being your wonderful, powerful, God-blessed SELF!

May you feel the Peace of God as you continue through this personal pilgrimage. May you find your SELF home again, happy and renewed to truly live in your sacred SELF!

    The Prelude

These lessons will feel like passage from illusion and uncertainty into truth and freedom. It is a journey of rediscovering who you really are. In this journey, there are twelve lessons. One lesson is not dependent on any other. Each lesson exists separately yet also blends and integrates with the others. As we continue to explore step by step, I will explain why there are twelve lessons and how this information came to me.

As we begin, allow yourself to feel a sense of intrigue as you will be learning how to travel deep into yourself. You will be stepping gracefully into a place, a piece of Heaven that is within you always. The purpose of this adventure is not to strengthen our minds. The intent is to go beyond the mind and even the heart so we can find our true God-given treasures! Such treasures are timeless, precious, and most importantly, POWERFUL! As we discover our inner jewels, we then and only then can become our truly alive selves. Without such an exploration, our genuineness remains veiled and distorted. We stay stuck in an oftentimes clumsy set of personality traits. The true SELF, however, always knows its easy flow of wisdom, joy, and accuracy. The true SELF moves with harmony, one with Divine Grace. This SELF is our REAL SELF, and unfortunately we have been erroneously led to believe that it is lost or doesn’t exist. Without realizing it, a sense of hopelessness can pervade our lives, and in any ordinary day, we can feel like we are losing power, losing our selves.

In those mundane moments, however, sometimes a new reality is trying to pierce through. I think in quiet moments — like a drive-through carwash, bank line, or at a traffic light — life gives us an opportunity for messages. In these moments, we might feel like we are in a boring vacuum, so we scramble to do something. We change the radio station, put a CD in, take a CD out, get on the phone, get off the phone, send a text. Then maybe our eyes catch our own image in the mirror and we think, God, I look so old. Something shifts. Some energy change starts to stir inside.

Sometimes this nervous void causes a shift inside that can initially make us feel uncomfortable. It can, however, allow for a new opening to a deeper sense of self. The problem is that without an authentic ability to focus upon such a synchronistic moment, we remain unchanged and unable to move to a more conscious level of who we really are. Instead, at that moment, the opportunity for releasing our inner treasure simply slips away. We lacked the necessary skill to do something else. Whenever we get pushed out of our routine, this blessed opportunity can emerge. And without awareness and tools, the golden moment fades into nothing.

This program is a journey that gets us to stand still for golden moments! It will definitely slow us down in our minds without halting our pace.

We seem so busy most of the time. But what are we doing? In our craziness, we leave clothes in the washer, then wash them again. We leave notes for ourselves and our families. We put
