Dedication
This book is dedicated to my grandmother, Theresa Freed. You are with me today in everything that I do. You are the heart within my soul that has led me to today. I look forward to the moment when we can be together again, but now is the time to help the world to find the same peace that you feel. We will all see you soon!
Acknowledgements
I would first like to thank my parents for caring enough to bring a being such as myself into this world. You have always been there for me, and I hope I for you. You provided me with a safe childhood in which to experience life in such a way as to lead me to my present today. I love you now more than ever, and I could never thank you enough.
I would like to also thank my wife, Victoria. It is to her that I owe my life and my fabulous now. I could not have written this book, if not for her constant encouragement, love, and infinite faith. She has been my guide through the darkness of my life, and I plan to stay everyday in her marvelous light. She is truly that soul that I was destined to at birth.
I would also like to thank my family and friends that have been a part of many beautiful todays over the years. You have all helped me to reach my present state of now and for this I thank you from the bottom of my soul.
Thanks especially to my editor and mentor, Mrs. Judith Hackman. You led me to the path of writing many years ago, and you have followed me through the publishing process to today. I am forever in your debt for helping me to find that window into my soul and hopefully into the hearts of others around the world.
To all the rest that I have not mentioned by name: Thank You! Please know that you all mean the world to me and you all are an integral part of my every today!
Preface
Living in Today is my personal and poetic journey to finding now. The writing of this book began November 23, 1999 and was completed in the fall of 2003. The book is written as a cross between poetry and prose and is punctuated as such. I have attempted to change the original when necessary to aid in understanding, but for the most part it does not differ much from how it was originally written in my blue felt journal.
The time between chapters varied, but all were written at one sitting and all came at the appropriate time for the writing. I have grown a great deal over the course of this literary journey and I thankfully continue to evolve today. This book is just the beginning.
I believe that the journey that I have made is not mine alone. There are many of you out there that have made similar journeys, some parallel, some different, and all are steps in the right direction. We are all given one opportunity to live the greatest and most powerful life that we can. We all struggle at one time or another and none of us
