This book was written in an attempt to show people how to witness in order to win souls for Christ, without being crude and intimidating. It is important that the souls that we are trying to win see the hope of their salvation. The grace of God is so magnificent that it will usually invite repentance. The Bible states that the Word of God is of no private interpretation and that salvation is free to all. Being afraid of going to hell is not a good enough reason for wanting to be saved. As a matter of fact, it is a pretty poor one. God wants us to serve Him in Spirit and in truth, simply because we love Him. He knows the intent of our hearts, yet, He has given us free will. We will never have true joy and peace if the only reason that we are in church is to avoid going to hell. Attendance without dedication is merely works; which according to the book of James mean nothing without faith. An effective witness will have a testimony of his or her own to share with their subject, thus, presenting a glorious invitation to the family of God. I feel that the methodology addressed in this book will be as effective to the one who is doing the witnessing, as it will be to the one who will be receiving the witness. Not everyone will have an ear to hear, so, tell those who will listen.

Sister Linda Dillard - Certified Bible Teacher, B.S. Social Work, B.S. Religious Education, Licensed Social Worker, Gospel Soloist, Motivational Speaker, Special Projects Coordinator, Executive Director and Policy Analyst. She was born in Little Coal Camp in the state of West Virginia. She received an Associate Degree in Sociology, and later received Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and Bachelor of Science in Religious Education. She was blessed to work in her chosen profession as an Economic Service Worker with a social work license for twenty four years in the State of West Virginia. Prior to that, she did a short internship program as a Case Aide in the Child Protective Division in Baltimore, Maryland, which gave her a chance to experience the real life circumstances of people and to prepare an impressive resume. Currently, she is an active youth advocate to her community and has opened a Bible School for her church organization.

Preface

Have you ever attempted to win a soul for Christ, only to realize that instead of holding your subject’s attention, you either came on too strong or that your presentation was so watered down, that the person appeared disinterested? If this has happened to you, don’t worry, you will have another chance and after reading this book and applying its principles, you will be prepared for the task at hand.

The word witness is defined as a person who has seen or known something and is therefore, competent to present evidence concerning the matter. For some, witnessing is a gift; for others, it must be learned and mastered.

Hopefully, after reading this book, you will have attained a degree of confidence in your methodology, which will make you an eager and effectual witness. You will find that your delivery will vary from time to time; as it should.

In writing this book, God has given me a specialized, yet, simplified way to minister unto His people.

The Word of God, though not meant to be so complex that it is difficult to comprehend, must be rightly divided.

A wise man will expound the Word of God with love and compassion; yet, without compromise. This authority is accomplished through the power of praying, fasting and studying.

The Word, itself, will have the drawing power of a large spiritual magnet.

The Book of James states that If you will draw nigh unto God, He will draw nigh unto you. (James 4:8)

Some well-read individuals, may not see the need for, yet, another book on christian witnessing. However, it has been my experience, as I have spoken to saved and to unsaved people, that, there are many things that we take for granted, that others need to know. So, I say with all sincerity, that as sure as you have the truth in your heart and are persuaded in your mind, you cannot help but share it with others.

The Scripture states that "Whom God called, He justified, whom He justified, He glorified. (Romans 8:30)

The reason that we are saved is to become witnesses for the cause of Christ. So, therefore, we are justified through the anointing and by the authority of the Holy Spirit to complete this mission.

I charge you to qualify yourselves for the service of the Lord.

Parts of this book are a bit strong. I will go as far as to say that you will either love it or hate it. In either case, it will have proven to be effectual.

I Have Taken

1.   I REALIZE THAT I AM TRULY DEFINED BY THE UNSUPERVISED PORTION OF MY LIFE. CAN GOD TRUST ME?

2.   THE SECRET OF MY CHARACTER IS HIDDEN IN MY DAILY ROUTINE.

3.   I HAVE LEARNED NOT TO MAKE A PERMANENT DECISION IN A TEMPORARY SITUATION. (HASTE MAKES WASTE).

4.   GOD WILL TAKE CONTROL IF I GIVE HIM THE REIGNS OF MY LIFE.

5.   I CAN ONLY THRIVE WHEN I AM IN THE RIGHT FELLOWSHIP WITH HIM. I MUST INQUIRE ABOUT HIS WILL IN MY LIFE.

6.   NEITHER THE ACCUSATORY TONGUES, NOR THE WEAPONS OF DECEIT, THAT ARE FORMED AGAINST ME, SHALL PROSPER.

7.   ANY PROMOTION THAT COMES MY WAY IS FROM HIM.

8.   I HAVE BEEN WOUNDED MANY TIMES, BUT, GOD HAS HEALED THE EMOTIONAL AND THE SPIRITUAL SCARS.

9.   I WILL NOT SETTLE FOR THE CHAOS THAT SATAN SENDS MY WAY. THE DEVIL DESIRES TO SIFT ME AS WHEAT, BUT, HE IS A LIAR.

10.   I WILL PROTECT MY ANOINTING AND MY INTEGRITY AT ALL COST.

11.   I WILL BE REAL WITH GOD AND WITH OTHERS. DO NOT TAKE ME FOR GRANTED BECAUSE THERE IS A DEPTH IN ME THAT ONLY GOD CAN REACH.

12.   I MUST PERSEVERE TO BREAK THE CYCLE OF REVENGE AND GENERATIONAL CURSES, SO THAT GOD’S PEOPLE CAN BE DELIVERED FROM VARIOUS SOURCES OF BONDAGE.

13.   I NEED A HEART LIKE THINE IN ORDER TO FUNCTION AS A PRODUCTIVE CITIZEN IN THIS PRESENT WORLD.

14.   I REALIZE THAT THE DEEPER THAT I AM ROOTED IN CHRIST JESUS, THE FIRMER MY FOUNDATION WILL BE.

15.   THE IMPARTATION OF HIS SPIRIT WILL DRIVE OUT ANY ADVERSITY IN MY LIFE.

16.   IF I SEEK HIS KINGDOM AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, HE WILL NOT WITHHOLD ANY GOOD THING FROM ME.

17.   I KNOW THAT GOD DISAPPROVES OF ATTITUDE, DEPRESSION AND OPPRESSION. (SOMETIMES I’M GUILTY)

18.   WHEN PRAYING AND SEEKING FOR THINGS, I MUST EXAMINE MY OWN MOTIVES SO THAT I AM NOT PRAYING AMISS.

19.   THOUGH THE WICKED SEEM TO CONSISTENTLY PROSPER, I KNOW THAT GOD HAS MY BLESSINGS AND HE WILL DISPERSE THEM TO ME, AS NEEDED.

20.   AS I WEAR THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, GOD HAS MY BACK. SO THEREFORE, I CAN WEAR THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF HIM.

21.   AS A TEACHER OF GOD’S WORD I WILL DECLARE ITS WHOLE COUNSEL, AS REQUIRED.

22.   HE ESTABLISHES MY GOINGS, AS MY FEET ARE SHOD WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL.

23.   THE SCRIPTURE ASSURES ME THAT HE IS WITH ME, EVEN UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD. THIS I DO BELIEVE.

24.   I LOVE THE LORD WITH ALL MY HEART. HE HAS HEARD MY CRY AND PITIED MY EVERY GROAN; AS LONG AS I LIVE AND TROUBLE RISE, I WILL HASTEN TO HIS THRONE. (Holy Bible, Psalms)

25.   I VALUE MY RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD AND I NEVER WANT TO DO ANYTHING TO MAKE HIM ASHAMED OF ME. I MUST KEEP A REPENTANT SPIRIT AT ALL TIMES.

26.   BECAUSE HE DOES LOVE ME, HE WILL ALWAYS MAKE A WAY OF ESCAPE TO PREVENT ME FROM COMMITTING SIN.
