I am happily married with three grown children who are successful. I have worked in healthcare for 35 years or more now. What brought me to healthcare in the beginning Is so memorable. I started learning Hawaiian dancing at 9 years old with my mother. Traveling with my mom for twenty years, entertaining the elderly community. This brought my heart to a full circle. My interest in the elderly community led me to work in healthcare. from 1978 after graduating high school, to the present time. At that time, I was an attendant at a retirement home taking residence to and from their rooms during mealtime and activities. I have worked in hospitals and nursing homes, and retirement communities since. I am now an IP (Independent Care Provider) for the State of Washington. Also I enjoy creating art, such as oil painting and graphic arts. I also crochet like I'm working in a factory because I love it that much. I am a heart on the sleeve human, with real emotions. I started writing in 2000.

What did you say about what goes through your mind about getting older? Do you contest it? I don't want to get gray hairs?
Do you bring it on? These days will be splendid!
When you think about the aging progression, does it make you honored to have survived this long? It's time to rejoice senior hood, let's go boogying! Don't decide on reaching the rest of your life well conserved. In its place, jump in sideways with that little black dress, fitting you or not, then let it all out, with enthusiasm voicing out, I made it to the top!
It is the prime of life at this delicate time of middle age, by way of the younger peer group making fun of us intellectual golden agers. We all know they get their giggles behind our backs. Could be our out of style clothes, or the way our expressions are on our faces. Well earned, with a wrinkle or two in between the lines, of what they say we have earned. The aching of our bones from walking funny from years of dashing after our children. Weary emotions thinking of going down in health from a twenty-four-hour day of raising our kids. Only, when young folks look back after they age, then they will understand to look a little closer not to judge. I, for one, agree with the earned wrinkles. Every time we got upset or had worry in our hearts, we earned another wrinkle. I suppose now wrinkles are brought on in other ways, for one, getting angry at young drivers speeding by. I find myself letting go and becoming upset and downright angry. Doing this at many times makes me want to just drag those snickering teenagers out to the wood shed the old fashion way. When it comes to driving in the present time.
I have had a mighty temper. Mostly on the road driving behind some old fart. Which is silly. Due to my thoughts now, that makes me feel younger when I yell at bad drivers my age. I do hear about the senior women calling senior men old farts. Then again, men call women of senior age, old ladies. Nonetheless, I am the same age in elder years whether I am an old fart, or old lady, either way. It is true, when we are persistent in getting angry at our own generation in driving traffic. I will find a way to go around, then get ahead of the cars who slow me down. I find myself shouting out, ‘you just don't know how to drive, do you?’ Why get mad at a slow driver our own age? I will tell you just what this means to me. For one, it is peer pressure, when we are
