    Introduction

The modern family is always busy. There are so many different activities that go on from day to day that it is easy to wonder when you will have time to take care of feeding your family. You may have to run from work, to helping with school activities, to doing sports and other extra-curricular activities, and even hanging out with friends. With all of the tasks that you need to fit into the day, it is no wonder that many families choose to just run through a drive-thru to feed their families.

There are so many bad things about doing this though. While it may be fast and convenient, these foods are really high in a lot of nutrients that are bad for the body. While they may fill you up for a short amount of time, they are going to eventually make you feel sick and increase your waistline. They are also expensive compared to making your own meals so you are watching your income disappear in no time.

Luckily, there is a simple solution that can help out with this issue. Rather than having to waste a lot of time trying to take care of making a meal or running through the drive-thru, consider using your slow cooker. You are able to cook up almost anything inside a slow cooker and most of the meals allow you to place the food inside, turn it on, and have a delicious meal as soon as you get home. This saves you time and ensures that you are getting a complete and delicious meal without spending all day cooking.

This guidebook is going to provide you with all of the great recipes that you need in order to make the full use of your slow cooker. We will provide you with recipes that are good for breakfast, appetizers, soups, main course meals, and even desserts. It is going to feel so good to do a little prep before leaving the house in the morning and to come home later in the day and know your meal is ready.

When you are tired of wasting money by eating out and want to have a delicious meal ready without all of the work, read through this guidebook to find out all the recipes that you should try out with your slow cooker.

Chapter 1: Understanding Your Slow Cooker

The slow cooker is probably one of the best tools to use in your kitchen. It is easy to store and cook some of the most delicious meals in no time, simply by putting some ingredients inside and turning it on. And in a world where we are always running and never have enough time, the slow cooker can make things a whole lot easier when it comes to creating a delicious and nutritious meal.

If you haven’t taken advantage of your slow cooker, there are many benefits that you are missing out on. Some of these great benefits include:

Making easy meals—most slow cooker meals are really easy to make. You simply throw in the ingredients that you need and leave it alone until you are ready to eat. At most, you may have to just fix a few ingredients, but most of the cooking will be done in the slow cooker while you are working on something else. This makes them easy and really convenient.

Saves time—no one wants to spend half an hour or more making a meal. There is just too much else going on in the day to try and keep up with all this work and you just may not have the time. A slow cooker can save you this time. A few minutes to throw in the ingredients and you can be out the door knowing that a meal is ready for you when you get home.

Saves money—rather than going out to eat on all those days you are busy, which can quickly add up when you do this for a few days each week, why not throw together a slow cooker meal. There are plenty of options that take just a few ingredients so you will notice your grocery bill goes way down without adding more work to your day.

Nutritious meal—everyone wants to make sure that they are feeding themselves and their family the right kinds of food each day. But with our busy schedules, it is easy to let this fall to the side and not take care of ourselves. Instead of eating out, you can throw together some health ingredients into the slow cooker and have the meal ready when you are.

Meals ready when you are—no longer do you have to plan your meals by how much time you have to cook them at night nor do you have to wait until it is really late to get that meal in. Just prepare your slow cooker in the morning and a delicious meal will be waiting whenever you have time to sit down.

More family time—spending time in the kitchen is less time that you have to spend with your family. Let the slow cooker do the work while you catch up with your loved ones.

Easy to use—slow cookers are really easy to use. Simply place the ingredients inside, put the lid on top, and choose one of the heat settings. Leave the food alone until it is done cooking and you are good to go.

As you can see, there are so many benefits that come from using a slow cooker. Whether you just don’t feel like cooking tonight or there are so many activities going on that you may stray from the diet and eat out, consider using your slow cooker instead. Your wallet, and your health, will thank you. It only takes a few minutes to create a delicious meal that you and your family will love, and with so many options to choose from, you are going to fall in love with a new meal every night.

    Chapter 2: Slow Cooker Breakfasts

    Delicious Cinnamon Rolls

    Ingredients:

    ½ c. brown sugar

    4 Tbsp. butter

    1 pkg. cinnamon rolls

    Directions:

Spray the insert of the slow cooker with cooking spray.

Take out a pan and melt the brown sugar and butter together until they become smooth.

Place the rolls into the bottom of the slow cooker and pour your caramel sauce on top. Cover the slow cooker and cook these on high for about an hour.

    Nutella and Banana French Toast

    1 Tbsp. brown sugar

    4 sliced bananas

    1 Tbsp. butter

    Salt

    2 Tbsp. Nutella

    1 Tbsp. vanilla

    2 c. almond milk, vanilla

    6 eggs

    1 loaf challah bread, cubed

    Directions

Cube the bread and layer it on the bottom of the slow cooker. Mix together the Nutella, vanilla, cinnamon, milk, and eggs in a bowl and whisk well.

Pour this mixture on top of the bread, making sure to completely cover all of the bread.

Turn the slow cooker to a high setting and cook for 2 hours.

When the meal is almost done, slice the bananas and add in the brown sugar, mixing well to combine.

Place some butter into a pan and then cook the bananas for about two minutes on both sides so they brown a bit.

When ready to eat, scoop the French toast out onto a plate and top with some bananas and enjoy!

    Apple Oatmeal

    Ingredients:

    ¼ tsp. salt

    1 tsp. cinnamon

    1 Tbsp. coconut oil

    2 Tbsp. brown sugar

    2 diced apples

    1 ½ c. water

    1 ½ c. coconut milk

    1 c. oats, steel cut

    Directions:

Get the inside of the slow cooker prepared with some cooking spray.

Add all of your ingredients into the slow cooker, mixing well to combine. Place the lid on top of the slow cooker.

Cook this overnight, or at least for five hours on a low setting. When ready to eat, pour into some bowls and enjoy!

    Coconut and Cherry Granola

    Ingredients:

    1 c. whole almonds

    5 c. rolled oats

    ½ c. dried cherries

    ½ c. pepitas

    ¼ c. canola oil

    ¼ c. shredded coconut

    1 tsp. vanilla

    Directions:

Take out your slow cooker and place the vanilla, almonds, oil, honey, and oats inside. Stir. Turn on a high setting on the slow cooker, but do not place the lid on top.

Cook this for an hour, making sure to stir at least twice. After this time you can lower the heat and add in the cherries, pepitas, and coconut. Continue to cook like this on a low setting for another 4 hours, stirring on occasion.

Cool it down completely before serving.

    Baked Apples

    Ingredients:

    ¼ c. raisins

    ¼ c. honey

    6 apples

    1 tsp. cinnamon

    6 Tbsp. coconut oil

    Directions:
