Makes 1 (12-inch) pizza

Loaded with all the best supreme pizza toppings, this skillet pie is as good as it gets.

Pizza Dough (recipe follows)

1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons yellow grits
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
1 pound Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 small yellow onion, thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper, seeded and sliced
1 cup sliced fresh baby portobello mushrooms
½ cup pepperoni slices
¼ cup sliced black olives
1½ cups pasta sauce
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon chopped fresh oregano
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
Garnish: chopped fresh oregano

1. Preheat oven to 450°.

2. Lightly punch down Pizza Dough. Turn out dough onto a lightly floured surface. Cover and let stand for 5 minutes.

3. Brush olive oil in bottom and on sides of a 12-inch cast-iron skillet. Sprinkle grits into skillet. Roll Pizza Dough into a 14-inch circle. Transfer dough to skillet, pushing 2 inches up sides of pan. Sprinkle 1½ cups mozzarella onto dough; top with sausage, bacon, onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, pepperoni, olives, and pasta sauce. Sprinkle with Parmesan, oregano, pepper, and remaining ½ cup mozzarella.

4. Bake until crust and cheese are golden brown, about 25 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with oregano, if desired.
