I’d posted ads before, mostly for fun - to read the absurd responses some men wrote, to feel wanted, even, sometimes. It wasn’t often that any message seemed very genuine. Michel wrote with an accent, which was what intrigued me first. I heard his voice in my head before I heard it in person. He’d sent a picture, as I had requested in my ad, though there was no telling if it was actually him in the photo; but something told me it was.
