The Alcrest Gastropub Cookbook - Lorne Oliver
Some Housekeeping
Let’s get through some business first. Everyone at the restaurant wanted to put their 2 cents into this fun little book. Yes, I’m talking about the characters in my head. Don’t judge me. It’s a collection of conversations between characters and interviews and tidbits of information that you most likely won’t find anywhere else. Writers know far more of what happens to characters than is ever put to page.
Instead of writing names all the time we went with initials.
CA = Chrys Alcrest
SA = Spencer Alcrest
J = Jessie – Front of House Manager
H = Hanni - Server
W = Wylie – Bartender/Server
G = Gordie – Sous Chef
R = Ranger – Prep Cook
M = Mallory – Garde Manger Chef
Mr.O = that writer guy
I can’t control everyone, so you’re warned now that some language may not be appropriate. This is a book by restaurant people about life in a restaurant. It’s real. – Mr.O

Cover Photos
As you may or may not know, a lot of the characters are based on real people. The cover has a few, so I’d like to give thanks to those who are on there and some of the photographers.
