Gordie looked over his shoulder, flipping the thick chain around his neck, to see who the woman was yelling at before realizing it was him. What?
The plastic bag in his hand swung around his leg. He could still taste the sample of fresh made pepperoni on his lips.
Do you know what animal flesh does to your body?
The woman had chestnut hair that was poofed up fifties style. The sous chef from the Alcrest Gastropub was sure the doo probably cost a fortune to create. She was in her late-forties and looked better off than the people she was with in a maroon dress with white and pink flowers as a pattern. Large sunglasses were tangled in the poof. Her nails were the latest style - pointed claws with the third nail on each hand a different colour. She expected everyone to notice and know her.
The bearded sous chef of the Alcrest Gastropub looked down at his big round belly covered by a T-shirt depicting his favorite video game. The blond character in a blue and yellow shirt was giving him a thumbs up. He looked up at the woman and the other people she was with. They had signs that read things like that meat had a face
and vegan for life.
A smile formed behind the red hairs of his beard and mustache. Yup, I do.
He patted his belly and gave it a healthy shake.
Eating meat kills animals. You're ruining the planet.
Spit flew from the woman's lips. They were painted perfectly as if she was waiting for press photography. All of the people had angry expressions. Probably from not enough protein, Gordie thought.
The voice in Gordie's head that should have told him to walk away was unfortunately stoned and giggling like a teenager with his first dirty magazine. There was no walking away without a few words first. You vegans think you're so holy. You know what happens if we eat all the animals in the world?
It was the marijuana that
