INTRODUCTION
Discover, as defined by The American Heritage Dictionary means: 1. To obtain knowledge of through observation, search, or study. 2. To be the first to find, learn of, or observe. 3. Archaic. To reveal; expose.
Discovery, as defined by The American Heritage Dictionary means: 1. The act or an instance of discovering. 2. Something that has been discovered. 3. Law. Data or documents that a party to a legal action is compelled to disclose to another party either prior to or during a proceeding.
The Discovery Channel is a cable and satellite TV channel founded by John Hendricks which is distributed by Discovery Communication. It provides non-fiction variety programming focusing primarily on the themes of popular science, history, and knowledge about the world, which are usually showcased as documentaries globally. In the U.S., the programming for the main Discovery network is primarily focused on reality-based
television themes such as speculative investigation (Unsolved History, Best evidence), automotives, and occupational duties (Dirty Jobs and Deadliest Catch). It also features documentaries specifically aimed at families and younger audiences (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discovery_Channel). The Discovery Channel has hosted such programs as The Lost Tomb of Jesus, Invasive Toads Getting Arthritis, and Early Humans Wore Makeup (http://disc.discovery.com/news/news.html). Pretty strange stuff, huh? Well…like The Discovery Channel, some of the stuff that runs through my mind also falls in the strange
category. Keep in mind though that these are strange, funny, AND serious thoughts. Life is full of funny, corny things. The joy comes from actually taking the time to experience
them. You are about to go on a journey of discovery. I hope this short read brings a smile to your face and helps you in your discovery process.
It may not be pretty, but I claim it. Read on…if you dare…
CHAPTER 1
A New Kind of Pop Bottle
Ladies, it’s a new day! Like bottles, women come in all colors, shapes and sizes. We don’t have to be pencil-thin, chubby, or have hour-glass figures. We can simply be women.
The abuse that we allow ourselves to be subjected to and endure has escalated to the point where many women die at the hands of men who they believe love them and have surgery to meet someone else’s expectations instead of our own. Surgery is a very serious matter and we should only have surgery that we
want to have. If the surgery we elect
to have pleases someone else in the bargain, that’s a win-win situation, but if we allow ourselves to be cut up in order to please someone else, we usually end up very disappointed.
