About this ebook

The freedom to be your true, authentic self: how cool is that? Not to worry what people think of you, not to worry what people expect of you is worth a lot. What’s it worth to you?
As an example, scan the magazines at the grocery checkout. How many titles to you see reading “X Ways to Make Him Purr in Bed”, “The First Ever Plus Size Supermodel”, “X Ways to Have a Bikini Body” and so forth. How many times do you read that if you don’t look like skinny supermodels, then you won’t belong? How many times have you inferred that being you isn’t good enough?
Who are “they” to tell you that you don’t measure up? Why do “they” get to tell you anything at all? Wouldn’t it feel righteous to tell “them” to get lost? Guess what? This eBook will show you not only why what other people think doesn’t matter; it will show you why you are good enough. It will show you how to find your authentic self, what true freedom looks like and how to Own It!

Author

Myra Hotchkiss

A Georgia mom and grandmother, I now live in Maryland near my children and grandchild. I write online as well as writing personal development books and love every letter of it, I mean, every second of it. I practice random acts of kindness, quote song lyrics frequently, cook every chance I get, walk a lot, especially with my grandchild and read. My current favorite author is Raymond Khoury and his Templar series.Other favorite authors are Clive Cussler, Tom Clancy, Dennis Miller and Marion Zimmer. I love music, dancing, working out and pretty much any form of movement. I'm not big on jazz, but any other form of music is fine by me. I especially love Celtic music. I say yall a lot, having come from the south. Yall have a good one!

    Introduction

We’ve all seen them. Special people, who sail through any situation, any problem with aplomb and even humor. They stand taller than other people, smile serenely and go about their business with confidence we all envy. Their business thrives. They seem to have friends everywhere. They are invariably handsome people with great wardrobes and tasteful accessories. They smile a lot. These people seem to draw people to them, ourselves included. They have a charm and a charisma we envy at the same time we try to emulate them. What is their secret? Can we get in on it?

Of course we can. I’ve had the great good fortune of learning from some of the best. In return, I want to help you be the best you can be. You, too, can stand head and shoulders above the crowd. You, too, can serenely view your world, make its weaknesses strengths and make its flaws into virtues. Imagine a world in which your fondest dreams come true, in which you can help others do the same. What’s it worth to you to stand outside the circle of those who try to control, telling you that you can’t do that? What’s it worth to you to tell the controllers to get lost?

I was originally planning to offer this eBook as a course of study, personally guiding each student. However, it was brought to my attention that I could help more people this way. Readers can move at their own paces and learn on a more personal level dependent upon the world peculiar to their lives. So this eBook will be lessons one through three. Four to six will come next and the last installment will be lessons seven through nine. You won’t be required to cram nine lessons into nine weeks as originally planned. So take your time, fill up as many notebooks as is necessary, and then get out there and Own It!

    Chapter One

    Awareness

Merriam-Webster defines aware as having or showing realization, perception or knowledge. On a personal level, awareness is something brought to your attention in such a way that it cannot be avoided or cannot be ignored. For example, Jennifer walks into the break room at work. All conversation ceases, eyes are averted and lunch is consumed in awkwardness. Jennifer can’t possibly ignore this. In another example, Dave doesn’t know a thing about electronics. He just knows that his smart phone went dumb, his computer crashed and his alarm didn’t. He learns later in the day that Mercury is in retrograde motion. Now,
