I looked in the mirror, and a stranger looked back at me. Who was this person with the single sagging breast, scars, “mommy pooch,” and dark circles under her eyes? It’s not that I was looking for all the flaws, but I couldn’t help but wonder where the spunky, cute woman of ten years ago had gone.
And it wasn’t just in my physical appearance—though that was drastically different. It was in my countenance. You could see it in my eyes and written on my face like carefully sketched lines. I had lost myself. Life had taken too much out of me. All I had wanted was to give my best to my family and my children, but somehow, along the way, I had lost myself.
The idea for this book was born from pain. My pain. My struggle with my health, energy and weight. I feel deeply compelled to share what I have learned with anyone else who is going through similar struggles. Three other incredible women have teamed up with me to share with you their incredible stories and insights on how we can go from a place of "punishing our bodies" to try and fit a certain ideal, to loving and nourishing our bodies.
I've learned fighting breast cancer these past two years that life is too short than to live our very best lives. You may be scared. You be confused. You may be unsure. I've been there too. We've been there. We are here to help you from a very real place. This book is raw. It is written from the heart and soul of women who have suffered, failed, tried and failed again but have come at last come off conqueror and are now living proof that true health, beauty and sexiness comes from within.

I looked in the mirror, and a stranger looked back at me. Who was this person with the single sagging breast, scars, mommy pooch,
and dark circles under her eyes? It’s not that I was looking for all the flaws, but I couldn’t help but wonder where the spunky, cute woman of ten years ago had gone.
And it wasn’t just in my physical appearance—though that was drastically different. It was in my countenance. You could see it in my eyes and written on my face like carefully sketched lines. I had lost myself. Life had taken too much out of me. All I had wanted was to give my best to my family and my children, but somehow, along the way, I had lost myself.
I sighed, and rubbed the sprouts of hair growing on my head. Breast cancer wasn’t something I had planned for. Who does? Or an emergency C-section? Or menopause weight-gain? Or depression? None of us want those things, but they still happen. Try as I might, I couldn’t undo the past or go back and paint a different picture of my body, my life.
I looked myself long and hard in the eye. Who do you want to be?
My blue eyes blinked back at me. This is where you’re at. This is the body you have. You’re here, still alive, still breathing, and thank God for that. So what are you going to do about it?
My eyes scanned the scars on my left chest. The breast had been completely removed. How am I supposed to be sexy now?
I felt disfigured, deformed, and those scars weren’t ones I could ever erase. I hardly felt like a woman. I used to complain about how my breasts sagged after having children, now I chided myself for that. They say that you don’t know what you have until it’s gone, but how did my self-confidence leave with it?
Am I going to let this define me?
Tears started streaming as a quiet voice inside told me, No. This will not define you. You are stronger than that.
But I’m so far from where I want to be!
I moaned. How am I supposed to do this?
The quiet voice didn’t leave. You’ll take it one step at a time. You’ve fought to save your life and your baby’s. Now, you’ll fight to reclaim your body. It’s time to reclaim your life.

My name is Heather Choate. One year ago, I’d just had my sixth baby, a miracle and incredible blessing because I was diagnosed with cancer only ten weeks into the pregnancy. After going through chemo, losing a breast, and gaining thirty pounds of baby weight, I was feeling far from attractive. Sexy? Yeah, right.
I could barely get out of bed, let alone prance around in a swimsuit or workout gear like the cute vixen I once felt I was. Life had taken too much out of me. Does that sound familiar? Has life taken too much out of you? As mothers and women, we give so much of ourselves to our children and others. We’re more overworked, over-stressed, and under-appreciated than ever before.
20150313_152215I made a decision to never feel this way again! I knew there were many things I couldn’t change—like my scars and stretch marks—but I could still do a lot to improve my energy, fitness, physique, and mindset. I was hungry for a change and ready to get my life and my body back.
Now, I feel so blessed to have come upon a system that has worked for me and so many others I’ve known.
