These days, many children’s lives revolve around excelling academically, getting the right experience, and taking part in the extracurricular activities that will eventually lead to entry into a prestigious university and onward to an appropriate, predestined career. There is so much pressure for the average child to succeed. But it’s not just kids who feel this pressure—parents do, too. Naturally we want the very best for our children, but we’re so concerned about getting it wrong that we have become overly involved in their lives.
