    About Novel Authors

The goal of this enrichment class was that participants understand the basic characteristics of a novel, and how a story idea goes through many steps to finally become a story in a book.

This enrichment class met once a week for about two months. The instructor used the NaNoWriMo Young Writers Program unit lesson plans, modified to use in the spring, rather than the month of November. Through these writing prompts and mini lessons, students brainstormed story ideas, created and developed characters and settings, using story elements generated a plotline then finally started writing their stories followed by editing.

Some stories are complete, while, due to the relatively short time the class met over two months, some are not. The other goal is that students will continue to write on their own to write new stories and/or finish their writing in progress (wips).

The stories have be put together into an anthology. In addition to being made into a paperbook it has also been published through Smashwords, available in several different ebook formats.

Finally, students wrote author bios and had author pictures taken to go along with their stories. These are located at the end of the book.
