The sounds of thumping woke me, pulling me out from whatever dreams were swimming within my head. I sighed and slowly opened my eyes as I instantly recognized the sound. It seemed my son was awake and running at full speed down the halls.

This in turn, made my daughter cry in her crib. I turned around and tapped my husband on the shoulder. He was oblivious, somehow sleeping through the whole ordeal. After attempting to wake him again, I shook my head and rolled out of bed.

I made my way to the hall and looked over to see my son stop in his tracks. He knew he did something wrong.

Jake, what did I tell you about running in the morning? I asked.
