SHOCK FALL

Arriving home from a long shift, I headed straight towards the shower.

As a Critical Care nurse, it’s safe to say, I lived a busy life.

My life was a big open space and I could do anything I wanted.

I never let anything hold me back from what I wanted to do.

Over the years, as well as sometimes working seven days in a row, I would fly to see my family and go out with friends.

I went abseiling and climbed mountains – life was exciting and full of adventure.

Only, as I stood on the non-slip mat in the bath in 2015, ready for my shower, suddenly everything changed.
