About this ebook

Kathy is nearing 40 and has been feeling more and more neglected with every passing day. Her husband, Jon, seems to always be busy and traveling for work, while rarely giving attention to her. She can't help but feel like their marriage has become boring, with little to no excitement in their lives.

Jon has yet another trip to go on and Kathy notices a new car in her neighbor's driveway. After Jon leaves, Kathy gives her neighbor, Keisha, a call to see how things are going. In their mostly white neighborhood, Keisha was a rarity, a single black woman with a son that Kathy knew. She learns that Keisha's son is back from college due to it being shutdown and she's invited over to catch up.

Keisha and Kathy reminisce over some drinks and that's when her 19 year old son, Andre, shows up. He's much more different than Kathy last remembers seeing him, growing to be a giant, muscular, statuesque man. Keisha is called to work abruptly and soon, Kathy is left alone with Andre. The two start to get cozy and soon, things get very hot for the lonely bored housewife...

A screaming buzz jolted me awake and I sighed as my husband fumbled around, pressing down hard on the snooze button of his old annoying alarm clock. I smacked him with the back of my arm. This was a daily occurrence, no matter how many times I told him to use his phone as an alarm; he continued to use that damn blaring thing.

Jon, damn it, why won’t you just use your phone? I complained.

Sorry, I keep forgetting, he grumbled back. Just close your eyes, go back to sleep.

Ugh, I groaned as I sat up. So I can hear that damn thing scream again after ten minutes?

The snooze is for fifteen, he replied with a small smirk. Well, if you are getting up, do you think you can get the coffee started?

    You cannot be serious.

Jon didn’t respond as he kept his eyes closed and snored. I gritted my teeth and got out of bed, purposefully shoving the blankets all over my husband. He didn’t seem to mind so I gave him a kick for good measure before getting out of bed. I stumbled over towards the bathroom and quickly washed my face with cold water. There was really no reason for me to be up this early.

I brushed my teeth and stared at myself in the mirror, turning my head side to side and leaning forward to take a close look at the wrinkles forming at my eyes.

A small sigh escaped my lips as I looked upward to see new wrinkles on my neck. I was a couple of years away from forty and I was not enjoying it. After brushing my teeth, I washed my face again, this time with soap and warm water. I patted my face dry and put on some toner before making my
