About this ebook

With summer fast approaching, Sara has received a couple of wedding invites but one in particular surprises her. It's from an old college friend, Roberta, that left on bad terms with her. She hears from a mutual friend, Laura, that Roberta had always regretted getting into a fight with her and had been contemplating whether or not to invite her to the wedding. Sara reminisces about the good times and jokes that she never thought a party girl like Roberta would ever settle down. She responds that she will attend the wedding in two months.

Time flies and Sara is soon waiting for Laura so that she can go to the wedding together. While she waits, she gets her heel stuck and almost falls flat on her face but a big black, statuesque man stops her. She isn't able to get his name or number as Laura shows up and they head up to the wedding. As the ceremony reaches its end and Sara waits at the minibar, she sees the black man again and gets close to him.

She's curious to know who he is and after a bit of interrogation, she finds that he's actually crashing Roberta's wedding. He asks her not to give him up and instead dance. Sara's cautious but she can't help but feel attracted to him and agrees to dance. While the night goes on and the two dance, she can't help but notice a rather large bulge between his legs. She wagers that its a piece of fruit or a sock, he argues that its all him and soon they make their way to his hotel room to find out...

I sighed as I opened up a flowery, lacy envelope. I'd seen similar ones from other friends. As I pulled out the card inside, another sigh left my lips. It was yet another wedding invite, this time from an old college friend.

Really?! Roberta?! I said to myself in surprise.

It was the last person I had expected an invite from. Not only because she was a party animal but also because we grew apart after a bad fight. She had hit on my boyfriend at the time, who I eventually broke up with after he cheated on me with some other girls. In hindsight, Roberta had shown me the red flags to look out for.

I wondered how she had gotten my address. My eyes widened as I saw the date and location. Holy shit! I exclaimed. It was actually being held close to downtown Seattle, which is where I lived. Wait, does she live around here?! I asked aloud, not sure who would give a response in my empty apartment.

Behind the card was another little note of some sort, a piece of pink paper folded in half. I opened it up and was surprised to see a handwritten letter. It was Roberta, asking her to come to her wedding and apologizing for her behavior back in college. She wrote that she had been in the wrong to hit on my boyfriend at the time. I was honestly stunned at her blunt apology, and wondered why she went out of her way to write it.

She even left me her number and social media accounts, which was very strange. I put the note aside and grabbed my phone. After looking through my contacts, I found another friend of mine who still kept in touch with Roberta. I quickly texted her, asking what was up with Roberta and how I had gotten a wedding invite. She immediately responded by calling.

Hey! Did you see my text? I asked.

Yeah, she invited you finally, huh? She was debating for like a couple of months, her friend answered.
