Billionaires Secret Dating Club - Part 2 - J.F. Monari

    1.

Dani drank her ice water and summoned her courage to return to Hank Steadman with his drink. The bartender had mixed it and wrapped it in a paper napkin.

Gin and tonic, the bartender said, putting it down. Then he turned to another waitress who was waiting on a drink order. And the orders kept coming—it was a busy night!

Dani took the drink and looked at it, thinking about how Hank Steadman's lips would soon be touching the glass. She wished she could touch his lips, too.

She wove her way through the crowd, looking around for her friend Mandi, but didn't see her. She wondered where her friend was and hoped she hadn't missed her shift for some reason. She quickly checked her phone but there were no messages.

She smiled as she got closer to Hank, which was not hard; her smile was natural. As servers, they were supposed to smile, that's what they were all told at their orientation meeting.

Here you are, Mr. Steadman, she said, handing him the drink. He reached for it and this time their fingers did touch for sure!

Thank you, he said, then looked at her. You know who I am? I don't think we've been introduced. He put his hand out to shake.

She blushed a little, then somehow managed to get her mind and mouth in gear; Oh, of course, Mr. Steadman. I hope I wasn't rude! It's just that I've seen you on the news on TV, and in magazines, and things...

Of course, he smiled. And, just call me Hank.

Thank you...Hank, she said as she took his hand and shook it. The moment seemed surreal to her.

You're welcome Dani, he said, making a point to look closely at her nametag again. That made her blush even more.
