Taking a CHANCE

There’s a guy I know who’s keen to meet you,’ said Jennie, linking her arm through Sarah’s and pulling her back to the party. ‘Standing next to the table in a green jumper. Come on, Michael’s perfect for you.’

Sarah blinked. She’d been absorbed in watching the lights twinkle through the rain. Jennie’s words sounded hollow. There was only one man for her – and that was David.

Tall and dynamic, he ran his own IT company and was the sort of man that had every woman looking hopeful as he passed by.

Only, this perfect man had left her the month before, with a long story about how it wasn’t her fault, it was his , but he needed some space to sort himself out and he hoped she’d understand.

Sarah didn’t. She’d been in a state of shock and desolation ever since, and letting Jennie persuade her to come to this party had been a mistake. The music was too loud, the people weren’t her friends and she was just waiting
