    God’s people

    Preface

It is my desire to make known God’s Word and Will, so that people will have the opportunity to be saved, come to full knowledge of the truth, and live in accordance with God’s intention. God’s Word was and is and will continue to be Truth. It is the Word of Life.

This book includes information about the following:

o Pentecost and the gift of holy spirit

    o New covenant believers: Christians

o Apostles, prophets, good-messagers, shepherds, teachers

I have studied and continue to study the Greek papyri and texts of the Bible extensively, and it is from these that I make my Word Translation and Study to provide this in-depth study aid.

The words that the only true God spoke are the best words to communicate His thoughts. It is because of mankind’s interference, mistranslations, etc, of what God spoke and/or what was written down, and because mankind has removed himself in his thinking so far away from God’s thoughts and words, that I endeavor to help all of us come-back to the integrity and truth of what God says - His Word - His thoughts - His will.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss or comment on this Word Translation and Study via the Contact link on https://www.TrueBibleStudy.com.

Thanks to God for His love and grace.

    Relevant Notes

Unless otherwise stated, all scriptures are quoted from one of the following:

o The True Bible Study Word Translation (TBS) is translated from the Greek Papyri and Texts by Maura K. Hill.

o The King James Version (KJV) uses italic type to inform the reader that the translators added the word(s) in italic type.

The various resources and reference materials are listed at https://www.truebiblestudy.com/bible-materials.

In the TBS Word Translation and Study:

o Words in a parenthesis () and italicized within a scripture verse are words inserted to help our English understanding of those words which are translated from Greek words.

o Words in a parenthesis () in the study of the scripture verse are words of explanation regarding the words prior to the parenthesis.

o Additional explanatory insertions within a scripture verse are enclosed in square brackets [] and italicized.

o Additional explanatory notes in the study of a scripture verse are enclosed in square brackets [] and are usually in relation to the Greek or Hebrew texts.

o A slash in the study of a scripture verse, such as: him/her, indicates an alternative word depending on the context.

o A dash, such as: go there – to Jerusalem, indicates that a certain word or phrase is particularly important or deserving of extra emphasis.

o Hyphenated words, such as: used-to-go, indicates that there is only one corresponding word in the Greek text.

o Non-English words are printed with English letters.

o I use an initial capital letter for all occurrences of the words Lord and Master when referring to either God or the Lord Jesus Christ due to my respect for them, therefore the reader will need to carefully consider the context of each particular usage to understand to whom that usage refers.

o Where the word spirit refers to God, I use an initial capital or upper-case S - Spirit. But when the word spirit refers to the gift of holy spirit, etc, I use a small or lower-case s - spirit.

o Underlined text is used for the English word but when translated from the Greek word alla to show that it implies a strong contrast to that-which has just previously been stated, and/or to strengthen a command.

o Underlined text is used for the singular form of the word you to distinguish it from the plural form of the word you which is not underlined.

o Underlined text is also used for emphasis.

o In order to communicate the fullness of the emphasis when the Greek definite article is repeated both with the noun and its adjective - for example: I Corinthians 15:4 the Greek is te hemera te trite, which literally means the day the third - I translate it as "the day, the third (day)."

o Verbs in the imperfect tense are translated with the words used-to and then the meaning of the verb.

o For example: used-to teach indicates that the one teaching spent time teaching, his action of teaching continued during a past time that is now finished for some reason, not that it was a quick one-time occurrence. The one teaching taught others taking time to teach, and he may have repeated his teaching at different times and in different ways. This tense is also used to historically describe past events relating what happened.

o Verbs in the perfect tense are translated from Greek with a superscript number 2 immediately following the verb - for example: it was written². This tense indicates an action done during a past time and which has a present continuing result, meaning it is still the same at the time the verb was spoken or written. Therefore, this example could be translated as: it was written and continues written.

o The noun love¹ or the verb to love¹ comes from the Greek word agape which is God’s kind of love.

When the Biblical writers wrote, there were no punctuation marks, no chapter or verse divisions indicated, etc, as we see them today in many of our English Bible translations and versions. Therefore we must read the whole context of each particular passage of Scripture for thought-content to more clearly understand the truth of what has been written.

Also, the original language was not English, and therefore when I may write that the writer said or wrote such and such, please understand that the writer actually spoke and wrote in the original language the equivalent to that-which I state in the English language to the best of my knowledge.

I recommend that while reading this book, you also have your usual Bible and Biblical study materials open, so as to compare verses and gain greater understanding of the truth of God’s Word.

Introduction to Acts of the Apostles

The Book of the Acts (Practices) of the Apostles was written by Luke.

It overlaps the end of his Gospel regarding the period of time between the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and his ascension into heaven. This account of the Acts of the Apostles continues from that point onwards to the time when the Apostle Paul was heralding forth the kingdom of God and teaching the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness, un-hindered, in his own hired house.

This writing gives detailed information regarding the fulfillment of the promise made by God regarding baptism in holy spirit, and the activities which occurred following that event on the day of Pentecost.

    The time spans approximately 28 A.D. through 63 A.D.

Word Translation - Acts of the Apostles

    Chapter 1

¹:¹Indeed the first word I made concerning all-things, oh Theophilus, which Jesus began both to do and to teach .2continuously-until which day he was taken-up, having commanded the apostles by means of holy spirit whom he selected-for-himself, .3to whom also he presented himself living after his suffering in many sure-signs by means of forty days being seen by them and saying the-things concerning the kingdom of God,

.4and being gathered-together with (them) he charged to them not to separate-themselves from Jerusalem but to wait-concerning "the promise of the Father which you heard of me, .5that John indeed baptized with water but you will be baptized in holy spirit after not many (of) these days," .6therefore indeed the (apostles) having come-together asked him saying, Lord, if in this time you restore the kingdom to Israel?

.7But he said towards them, "It is not yours to know (the chronological-)times or (the specific-)times which the Father put in (His) own authority, .8but you will receive ability - the holy spirit having come on you - and you will be my witnesses in both Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and until (the) last-part of the earth."

.9And having said these-things, (during) their observing, he was lifted-up and a cloud took him from-underneath from their eyes, .10and as they were gazing-intently into the heaven (during) his journeying, also look!, two adult-males had stood-beside them in white clothing .11who also said, "Adult-males, Galileans, why did you stand² observing into the heaven? This Jesus, the (Jesus) having been taken-up from you into the heaven, thus he will come (according to) which manner you gazed-upon him journeying into the heaven."

.12Then they returned into Jerusalem from (the) mountain, the (mountain) being called: Olive, which is near Jerusalem having (the) way of a sabbath, .13and when they came-into (Jerusalem) they ascended into the upper-room where they were permanently-remaining, both Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James (the son) of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot and Judas of James. .14These all were being strong like-mindedly with prayer together with (the) women, and Mary the mother of Jesus and his brothers.

.15And in these days Peter, having stood-up in (the) midst of the brothers, said, (and it was a crowd of names on the same-place as-though a hundred (and) twenty), .16"Adult-males, brothers, it was necessary (for) the writing to be fulfilled which the Spirit, the Holy (Spirit), said-beforehand by means of (the) mouth of David concerning Judas, the (person) having become a guide to the (people) having taken-together Jesus, .17that he was having been numbered² among us and he obtained the lot of this ministry,

.18therefore this-person indeed acquired a property from (the) compensation of the unrighteousness, and having become prostrate (his) midst sounded-when-struck and all his inner-parts were poured-out, .19and it became known to all the (people) dwelling-down (in) Jerusalem so-that that property (is) called by their own dialect: Akeldamac, this is ‘Property of Blood,’

.20for it was written² in (the) Book of Psalms, ‘his country-dwelling must be caused-to-become a desert-place and there must not be the (person) dwelling-down in it’ and ‘a different-person must receive his overseership,’ .21therefore it is necessary (that) of the adult-males having come-together with us in every time which the Lord Jesus went-into and went-out on us, .22having begun from the baptism of John until the day which he was taken-up from us, one of these to become a witness of his resurrection together with us."

.23And they caused two-people to stand, Joseph the (person) being called Barsabbas who was called Justus, and Matthias, .24and having prayed they said, "You, Lord, Knower-of-the-heart of all-people, must upwardly-point-out which one You selected-for-Yourself from these two-people .25to receive the lot of this ministry and apostleship from which Judas stepped-aside to journey into the place, (his) own place," .26and they gave lots to them and the lot fell on Matthias and he was voted-together with the eleven apostles.

    Chapter 2

²:¹And in the fulfillment (of) the day of Pentecost they were all together on the same-place, .2and there became suddenly from heaven a sound wholly-as (the) carrying of a violent blowing and it filled the whole house where they were sitting-down, .3and tongues being throughly-distributed were seen by them as-though of fire and it sat-down on each one of them, .4and they were all filled of holy spirit, and they began to utter-forth with different tongues according as the spirit gave to them (the words) to precisely-speak-out.

.5But there were Judeans dwelling-down into Jerusalem, devout adult-males from every nation of the (nations) under heaven, .6and this sound having come-to-pass, the multitude came-together and was confused because they heard them uttering-forth, each one with (his) own dialect, .7and they were bewildered and they marveled saying, "Look!, all these-people uttering-forth are Galileans, aren’t they? – (yes)

.8and how do we hear, each of us with (his) own dialect in which we were born? - .9Parthians and Medes and Elamites and the (people) dwelling-down (in) Mesopotamia, both Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, .10both Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya according to Cyrene, and the residing Romans, .11both Judeans and proselytes, Cretes and Arabians - we hear them uttering-forth with our tongues the great-things of God."

.12And they all were bewildered and wholly-despaired another towards another saying, What does this intend to be?; .13but different-people, throughly-jeering, said that, "They are having been filled² of sweet (wine)."

.14But Peter, having been caused-to-stand together with the eleven, lifted-up his sound and he precisely-spoke-out to them, "Adult-males, Judeans, and all the (people) dwelling-down (in) Jerusalem, this must be known to you and you must receive my spoken-matters in-your-ears, .15for these-people are not drunk as you take-from-underneath (into your minds) for it is (the) third hour of the day,

.16but this is the-thing having been said² by means of the Prophet Joel: .17‘And there will be in the last days God says, I will pour-out from My Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your young-men will see sights, and your elders will dream dreams, .18and indeed on My male-slaves and on My female-slaves in those days I will pour-out from My Spirit and they will prophesy, .19and I will give wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and vapor of smoke, .20the sun will be turned into darkness and the moon (will be turned) into blood before (the) coming (of) the great and shining-light day of (the) Lord, .21and it will be (that) all who ever may call-upon the name of (the) Lord to-himself will be saved.’

.22Adult-males, Israelites, you must hear these words - Jesus the Nazarene, an adult-male having been pointed-out² from God into you with abilities and wonders and signs which God did by means of him in your midst according as you yourselves knew², .23this-person - given by the deliberate-determination and foreknowledge of God having been marked-out-definitely² - you eliminated by means of (the) hand of lawless-people having affixed (him), .24whom God resurrected having loosened the pangs of death as-because it was not able (for) him to be strongly-held by it,

.25for David says into him, ‘I saw-beforehand the Lord before me continually because He is out-from my right-sides in order that I may not be shaken, .26because-of-this my heart was made glad-minded and my tongue exulted, and yet also my flesh will lodge on hope .27because You will not leave my soul down into gravedom nor will You give Your holy-one to see through-corruption, .28You have made-known to me ways of life, You will fill me of glad-mindedness with Your face.’

.29Adult-males, brothers, (it is) permitting to say with boldness towards you concerning the patriarch David that he both completed (his life) and he was buried, and his memorial is among us continuously-until this day, .30therefore being-from-the-beginning a prophet and having known² that God swore with an oath to him (that) from (the) fruit of his loin (there will be someone) to sit-down on his throne, .31having seen-beforehand he uttered-forth concerning the resurrection of the Christ that ‘neither was he left-down into gravedom nor his flesh saw through-corruption’ –

    .32this Jesus, God resurrected of whom we all are witnesses, .33therefore having been heightened to the right-side of God and having received the promise of the spirit, the holy (spirit), from the Father, he poured-out this which you observe and hear, .34for David has not ascended into the heavens, but he says, "(The) Lord said to my Lord, ‘You must sit-down out-from My right-sides .35until ever I may put your enemies (the) footstool of your feet’";

.36therefore all (the) house of Israel must know safely that God made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified." .37And having heard they were pierced-down (in) the heart and they said towards Peter and the remaining apostles, What may we do, adult-males, brothers?

    .38And Peter (said) towards them, "You must repent and each of you must be baptized on the name of Jesus Christ into (the) dismissal of your sins and you will receive the free-gift of the holy spirit, .39for the promise is to you and to your children and to all the (people) into distant-places as-many-as ever (the) Lord our God may call-towards-Himself, .40and with more different words he throughly-witnessed and he encouraged them saying, You must be saved from this generation of crookedness," .41therefore the (people) indeed having accepted his word were baptized, and as-though three-thousand souls were added in that day;

.42and they were being strong-with the teaching of the apostles and the sharing-in-common, the breaking of bread and the prayers, .43and fear came-to-pass on every soul, and many wonders and signs came-to-pass by means of the apostles, .44and all the (people) believing were on the same-objective, and they had all-things-together common, .45and they sold (their) acquisitions and (their) beginning-things, and they throughly-distributed them to all-people according-that ever someone had a need,

.46and daily being strong like-mindedly in the temple and breaking bread according to a house they received nourishment in exultation and smoothness of heart, .47speaking-in-praise-of God and having grace towards the whole people; and the Lord added the (people) being saved daily on the same-objective.

    Chapter 3

³:¹But Peter and John ascended into the temple on the hour of prayer, the ninth (hour), .2and some adult-male being-from-the-beginning lame from his mother’s womb was lifted-up whom they put daily towards the door of the temple, the (door) being said (as) Beautiful, to ask a merciful-deed from the (people) journeying into the temple, .3who, having seen Peter and John being about to enter into the temple, asked to receive a merciful-deed.

.4But Peter having gazed-intently into him, together with John, said, You must observe into us, .5and the (man) held-on to them expecting to receive something from them, .6and Peter said, Silver and gold does not begin-from me, but that-which I have this-thing I give to you - in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene you must walk, .7and having apprehended him with the right hand he raised him up and with-that his steppings and anklebones were made-solid, .8and leaping-out he stood and walked and went together with them into the temple walking and leaping and speaking-in-praise-of God.

.9And all the people saw him walking and speaking-in-praise-of God, .10and they fully-knew him that he was the (person) sitting-down towards the merciful-deed on the Beautiful gate of the temple, and they were filled of marvel and bewilderment on that-which came-together² to him, .11but (during) his strongly-holding (to) Peter and John, all the people (who were) really-marveled ran-together towards them on the pillared-porch, the (pillared-porch) being called: Solomon’s,

.12but Peter having seen answered towards the people, "Adult-males, Israelites, why do you marvel on this or why do you gaze-intently to us as by (our) own ability or reverence we made² him to walk? .13The God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers glorified His child Jesus whom you indeed gave-over and you denied in-the-face of Pilate having judged to loosen that-person,

.14but you denied the holy-one and righteous-one and you asked-for-yourselves an adult-male a murderer to be graced to you .15but you killed the author of the life whom God raised-up from dead-people, of-whom we are witnesses, .16and on the belief of his name, his name made this-person solid whom you view-with-attention and you knew², and the belief, the (belief) by means of him, gave to him this whole-lot before all of you.

.17And now brothers I knew² that according to lack-of-knowledge you practiced (these actions) wholly-as also your rulers, .18but God, the-things-which He messaged-beforehand by means of (the) mouth of all the prophets (for) His Christ to suffer, thus fulfilled, .19therefore you must repent and you must turn-back-upon (God) for your sins to be wiped-out .20so-that ever (the specific-)times of up-souling may come from (the) face of the Lord and He may apostle the (one) having been hand-picked² to you - Christ Jesus, .21whom it is necessary (for) heaven indeed to accept continuously-until (the chronological-)times of restoration of all-things which God uttered-forth by means of (the) mouth of His holy prophets from (the) age,

.22Moses indeed said that ‘(the) Lord your God will cause-to-stand-up for you from your brothers a prophet as me, you will cause-yourselves-to-hear him according to all as-many-things-as ever he may utter-forth towards you, .23and it will be (that) every soul, the-one-who if-ever may not hear that prophet will be wholly-destroyed from the people’; .24and also all the prophets from Samuel and (his) successors as-many-as uttered-forth and messaged (concerning) these days.

.25You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God covenanted towards your fathers, saying towards Abraham, ‘and in your seed all paternal-lineages of the earth will be in-blessed’; .26God, having resurrected His child, apostled him to you first, blessing you in each (of you) turning-away from your evilnesses."

    Chapter 4

⁴:¹But (during) their uttering-forth towards the people, the priests and the commander of the temple and the Sadducees stood-on (them) .2throughly-being-pained because-of them (continuing) to teach the people and to message in Jesus the resurrection, the (resurrection) from dead-people, .3and they threw (their) hands on them and they put (them) into keeping into the morrow for it was already evening, .4but many of the (people) having heard the word believed and the number of the adult-males became five thousand.

.5But it came-to-pass on the morrow (for) their rulers and elders and scribes to be gathered-together in Jerusalem, .6and Annas the chief-priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as-many-as were from (the) chief-priestly genus, .7and having caused them to stand in the midst they asked-to-learn, In what-kind-of ability or in what-kind of name did you do this? .8Then Peter having been filled of holy spirit said towards them, "Rulers of the people and elders, .9if we today are being judged-up on (the) good-work (done to) a weak man (and) in whom this-person was saved² –

.10it must be known to you all and to all the people of Israel that in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene whom you crucified, whom God raised-up from dead-people, in this (Jesus) this-person has stood-beside² before you sound, .11this (Jesus) is ‘the stone, the (stone) having been despised by you the builders, the (stone) having become into (the) head of (the) corner’; .12and the salvation is not in not-one other-person for neither is there a different name under heaven, the (name) having been given² among men, in which it is necessary (for) us to be saved."

.13But viewing-with-attention the boldness of Peter and John and having comprehended that they are illiterate and unlearned men, they marveled and they fully-knew them that they used-to-be together with Jesus, .14and observing the man having stood² together with them, the (man) having been attended-to², they had nothing to contradict (it),

.15but having commanded them to go-away outside of the council they threw-together towards one-another .16saying, "What may we do to these men because for indeed a known sign became² manifest by means of them to all the (people) dwelling-down (in) Jerusalem and we are not able to deny (this), .17but in order that it may not be more throughly-conveyed into the people let us threaten them to no-longer utter-forth on this name to not-one-person of men,"

.18and having called them they charged entirely not to precisely-speak nor to teach on the name of Jesus. .19But Peter and John having answered said towards them, If it is righteous before God to hear you rather than God you must judge, .20for we are not able not to utter-forth the-things-which we saw and heard.

.21But the (council-members), having further-threatened, loosened them finding nothing (as to) how they may curtail them because-of the people, because all-people glorified God on the-thing having come-to-pass² .22for the man was more-than forty years on whom this sign of healing had come-to-pass.

.23But having been loosened they went towards (their) own-people and they announced as-many-things-as the chief-priests and the elders said towards them, .24and the (apostles) having heard like-mindedly lifted (their) sound towards God and said, "Master, You (are) the (One) having made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all the-things in them, .25the (One), by means of holy spirit of the mouth of our father David, Your child, having said, ‘In-order-for-that were (the) Gentiles haughty and (the) peoples cared-for empty-things; .26the kings of the earth stood-beside and the rulers were gathered-together on the same-objective against the Lord and against His Christ,’

    .27for they were gathered-together in this city on truth on Your holy child Jesus whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate together with (the) Gentiles and (the) peoples of Israel, .28to do as-many-things-as Your hand and (Your) deliberate-determination marked-out-beforehand to come-to-pass; .29and the-things now, Lord, You must look on their threats and You must give to Your slaves (the ability) to utter-forth Your Word with all boldness .30in Your stretching-out Your hand into healing and signs and wonders to come-to-pass by means of the name of Your holy child Jesus";

.31and (after) their supplicating, the place in which they were having been gathered-together² was shaken, and they were all-together filled of the holy spirit and they uttered-forth the word of God with boldness.

.32And the multitude of the (people) having believed were one heart and soul, and neither did one-person say something of the-things beginning-from him to be (his) own but all-things-together were common to them, .33and with great ability the apostles gave-away the witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus and great grace was on all of them, .34for neither was there some person-who-lacks among them, for as-many-as began-to-be acquirers of properties or houses selling (them) they carried the prices of the-things being sold .35and they put (it) beside the feet of the apostles, and it was throughly-given to each-person according-that ever someone had a need.

.36And Joseph, the (person) having been called Barnabas from the apostles which is being translated ‘son of encouragement,’ a Levite, a Cypriot by genus, .37having sold a field beginning-from him, carried the money and he put (it) beside the feet of the apostles.

    Chapter 5

⁵:¹But some adult-male, Ananias by-name, together with Sapphira his wife, sold an acquisition .2and put-apart-for-himself from the price, (his) wife also having known-together² with (him), and having carried some part he put (it) beside the feet of the apostles. .3But Peter said, "Ananias, because-of-what did satan fill your heart (for) you to lie-to the spirit, the holy (spirit), and to put-apart-for-yourself from the price of the property? .4(While it was) remaining it remained to you, and having been sold (the selling-price) began-to-be in your authority, didn’t it? - (yes.) Why (is it) that you put this matter in your heart? You did not lie to men but to God."

.5But Ananias hearing these words, having fallen, he ex-souled, and great fear became on all the (people) hearing, .6and the younger-men having stood-up drew him together, and having carried (him) out they buried (him). .7But it came-to-pass as an interval of three hours also his wife, not having known² the (matter) having come-to-pass², went-in, .8but Peter answered towards her, You must say to me, if of-so-much you gave-away-from-yourselves the property? And the (wife) said, Yes, of-so-much.

.9But Peter (said) towards her, "Why (is it) that it was agreed by you (both) to tempt the spirit of (the) Lord? Look!, the feet of the (people) having buried your husband on the door and they will carry you out." .10And she fell with-that towards his feet and she ex-souled; and having come-in the young-men found her dead, and having carried (her) out they buried (her) with her husband. .11And great fear became on the whole church and on all the (people) having heard these-things.

.12But by means of the hands of the apostles there came-to-pass many signs and wonders among the people – and they were all-together like-minded in the pillared-porch of Solomon, .13but of the remaining-people not-one-person dared to be-glued-together to them but the people expressed-the-greatness-of them, .14and rather multitudes of both adult-males and women believing the Lord were added –

.15so-that also to carry-out the weak-people and to put (them) on small-beds and mattresses into the wide-streets in order that (with) Peter coming also-if-ever (his) shadow may shadow-on some of them, .16and the multitude of the cities surrounding Jerusalem also came-together carrying weak-people and (people) being crowded by unclean spirits, the-people-who all-together were attended-to.

.17But the chief-priest having stood-up and all the (people) together with him, the sect being of the Sadducees, were filled of jealousy .18and they threw (their) hands on the apostles and they put them in a public keeping. .19But an angel of (the) Lord, by means of night having opened the doors of the prison and having led them out, said, .20You must journey and, having been caused-to-stand, you must utter-forth in the temple to the people all the spoken-matters of this life, .21(a)and having heard (him) they went into the temple under daybreak and they taught.

.21(b)But the chief-priest having arrived and the (people) together with him called-together the council and all the elder-council of the sons of Israel, and they apostled (their assistants) into the prison (for) them to be led, .22but the assistants having arrived did not find them in the prison, and having turned-up they announced .23saying that, We found the prison having been shut² in all safety and the prison-guards having stood² on the doors, but having opened inside we found not-one-person!

.24And as both the commander of the temple and the chief-priests heard these words they wholly-despaired concerning them what ever this-thing may become, .25but someone having arrived announced to them that Look!, the adult-males whom you put in the prison are in the temple having stood² and teaching the people! .26Then the commander having gone-away together with the assistants led them, not with violent-strength for they were fearful (of) the people (so that) they may not be stoned.

    .27But having led them they stood among the council and the chief-priest asked them .28saying, We charged a charge to you not to teach on this name, and look!, you have filled² Jerusalem of your teaching and you deliberately-determine to lead the blood of this man on us. .29But Peter having answered and the apostles said, "It is necessary to be ruled-persuasively by God rather than men - .30the God of our fathers raised-up Jesus whom you handled having hung (him) on a wooden-stake;

.31God heightened this author and savior to His right-side to give repentance to Israel and dismissal of sins; .32and we are witnesses of these spoken-matters and the spirit, the holy (spirit) which God gave to the (people) being ruled-persuasively by Him."

    .33But the (council-members) having heard were sawn-asunder and they deliberately-determined to eliminate them. .34But someone in the council, a Pharisee, Gamaliel by-name, an honorable law-teacher to all of the people, having stood-up commanded to make the men (go) outside a short (interval), .35and he said towards them, "Adult-males, Israelites, you must have-attention to yourselves what-thing you are about to practice on these men, .36for before these days Theudas stood-up saying himself to be someone, to whom a number of adult-males as four-hundred were leaned-towards, who was eliminated and all as-many-as were persuaded by him were dissolved and they became into nothing;

    .37after this-person Judas the Galilean stood-up in the days of the registry and caused people to depart behind him, that-person also destroyed-himself and as-many-as were persuaded by him were scattered-throughout;

.38and the-things now I say to you, you must depart from these men and you must dismiss them because if-ever this deliberate-determination or this work may be from men it will be disunited, .39but if it is from God you will not be able to disunite them, lest-perhaps also you may be found (being) God-fighters."

And they were persuaded by him, .40and having called the apostles towards-themselves, having skinned (them), they charged (them) not to utter-forth on the name of Jesus, and they loosened (them). .41Therefore indeed the (apostles) journeyed joying from (the) face of the council because they were esteemed-worthy to be dishonored on behalf of the name (of Jesus); .42and every day in the temple and according to a house they did not stop teaching and good-messaging the Christ Jesus.

    Chapter 6

⁶:¹But in these days of multiplying of the learning-disciples there became a murmuring of the Grecians towards the Hebrews that their widows were being overlooked in the ministry, the day-by-day (ministry). .2And the twelve, having called the multitude of the learning-disciples towards-themselves, said, "It is not pleasing for us having left-down the word of God to minister to tables, .3but, brothers, you must look-intensely (for) seven adult-males from you being witnessed-of (as being) full of spirit and of wisdom whom we will constitute on this need, .4but we will be strong with prayer and with the ministry of the word."

.5And the word pleased before all the multitude and they selected-for-themselves Stephen, an adult-male full of belief and of holy spirit, and Philip and Prochorus and Nicanor and Timon and Parmenas and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch, .6who stood before the apostles, and having prayed they put (their) hands on them; .7and the word of God increased and the number of the learning-disciples in Jerusalem was vehemently multiplied and a big crowd of the priests were obedient to the belief.

.8And Stephen, full of grace and ability, did great wonders and signs among the people. .9But some of the (people) from the synagogue, the (synagogue) being said (as) Libertines stood-up, and Cyrenians and Alexandrians and of the (people) from Cilicia and Asia, disputing-together with Stephen, .10and they were not strong to stand-against the wisdom and the spirit by-which he uttered-forth.

.11Then they suborned adult-males saying that, We heard² him uttering-forth blasphemous spoken-matters into Moses and God, .12and they moved-together the people and the elders and the scribes, and having stood-on (Stephen) they caught him away-together and they led (him) into the council, .13and they caused lying witnesses to stand saying, "This man does not stop uttering-forth spoken-matters against the place, the holy (place), and the law, .14for we heard² him saying that this Jesus the Nazarene will disunite this place and he will change the customs which Moses gave-over to us." .15And all the (people) sitting-down in the council, having gazed-intently into him, saw his face as-though (it were the) face of an angel.

    Chapter 7

⁷:¹But the chief-priest said, "Since these-things have thus (been witnessed, what is your answer)? .2But he said, Adult-males, brothers and fathers, you must hear: the God of glory was seen by our father Abraham being in Mesopotamia before him dwelling-down in Charran, .3and He said towards him, ‘You must go-out from your earth and your family-kindred and come-this-way into the earth which ever I may point-out to you.’

.4Then having come-out from (the) earth of (the) Chaldeans he dwelt-down in Charran, and-from-there, after the dying (of) his father, He changed his dwelling into this earth into which you now dwell-down, .5and He did not give to him an inheritance in it nor a foot’s step, and He promised to give it to him for a held-possession and to his seed after him - a child not being (born) to him.

.6But God uttered-forth thus that his ‘seed will be a sojourner in another’s earth and they will enslave it and they will treat (his seed) badly four-hundred years, .7and the nation to which if-ever they will serve-as-slaves I will judge,’ God said, ‘and after these-things they will come-out and they will render-service to Me in this place.’

.8And He gave (the) covenant of circumcision to him and thus he begat Isaac, and he circumcised him on the day, the eighth (day); and Isaac (begat and circumcised) Jacob, and Jacob (begat and circumcised) the twelve patriarchs. .9And the patriarchs having been jealous-against Joseph gave (him) away-from-themselves into Egypt; and God was with him .10and took him to-Himself from all his pressures and He gave to him grace and wisdom before Pharaoh king of Egypt and He constituted him being-the-leader on Egypt and his whole house.

.11But a famine came on the whole (of) Egypt and Canaan and great pressure and our fathers did not find feedings. .12But Jacob, having heard grains being into Egypt, apostled-out our fathers first, .13and in the second Joseph was made-known to his brothers and Joseph’s genus became manifest to Pharaoh. .14But Joseph having apostled, called-to-himself Jacob his father and all (Jacob’s) family-kindred in seventy-five souls, .15and Jacob descended into Egypt, and he completed (his life), he and our fathers, .16and they were caused-to-change into Sychem and they were put in the memorial which Abraham purchased for a price of silver from the sons of Emmor in Sychem.

.17But according as the time of the promise came-near, which God promised to Abraham, the people increased and were multiplied in Egypt .18continuously-until where ‘a different king stood-up who had not known Joseph.’ .19This (king) having been wise-against our genus treated (our) fathers badly to make their putting-out (of) the babies with-a-view not to be born-alive, .20in which time Moses was born and he was elegant to God, who was nourished-up three months in (his) father’s house. .21But (after) his having been put-out, the daughter of Pharaoh chose him up-for-herself and she nourished him up to herself into (her) son, .22and Moses was trained in all (the) wisdom of (the) Egyptians and he was able in his words and works.

.23But as forty-years time was fulfilled to him, it ascended on his heart to look-intensely-on his brothers - the sons of Israel, .24and having seen someone being treated-unrighteously he defended (him) and he did vengeance for the (person) being worn-down, having struck the Egyptian. .25But he regarded-it-as-customary (for) the brothers to understand that God gives salvation to them by means of his hand, but the (brothers) did not understand, .26and with the coming day he was seen by them (while they were) fighting and he was reconciling them together into peace having said, ‘Adult-males, you are brothers, in-order-for-that you treat one-another unrighteously!’

.27But the (person) treating (his) neighbor unrighteously thrust him away-from-himself having said, ‘Who constituted you a ruler and a judge-of-right on us? .28You do not intend to eliminate me (according to) which manner you eliminated the Egyptian yesterday, do you?’ - .29but Moses fled in this word and he became a sojourner in (the) earth of Midian where he begat two sons.

.30And forty years having been fulfilled, an angel in a flame of fire of a bramble-bush was seen by him in the desert-place of Mount Sinai, .31but Moses having seen marveled (at) the seen-object and (during) his going-towards to mentally-perceive (it the) sound of (the) Lord came-to-pass: .32‘I (am) the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob.’

But Moses having become in-a-tremble did not dare to mentally-perceive, .33but the Lord said to him, ‘You must loosen the sandal of your feet for the place on which you stood² is holy earth. .34Having seen I saw the bad-treatment of My people, the (people) in Egypt, and I heard their groaning and I descended to take them out-to-Myself, and now come-this-way (so that) I may apostle you into Egypt.’

.35This Moses whom they denied having said, ‘Who constituted you a ruler and a judge-of-right?’ – this-person God apostled² a ruler and a redeemer, together with (the) hand of an angel, the (angel) having been seen by him in the bramble-bush – .36this-person led them out having done wonders and signs in (the) earth of Egypt and in (the) Red Sea and in the desert-place forty years – .37this-person is Moses, the (person) having said to the sons of Israel, ‘God will cause-to-stand-up a prophet to you from your brothers as me,’ –

.38this-person is the (person) having become in the church in the desert-place with the angel, the (angel) uttering-forth to him in Mount Sinai, and with our fathers, who accepted living declared-words to give to us, .39to whom our fathers did not intend to become obedient but they thrust (him) away-from-themselves and were turned in their hearts into Egypt .40having said to Aaron, ‘You must make for us gods who will journey-before us, for this Moses who led us from (the) earth of Egypt we did not know² what became to him,’ .41and they made-a-calf in those days and they led-up a sacrifice to the idol and they were made glad-minded in the works of their hands.

.42But God turned and He gave them over to render-service to the army of heaven according as it was written² in (the) book of the prophets: ‘You did not offer Me slaughtered-animals and sacrifices forty years in the desert-place, house of Israel, did you? - (no) - .43and you took-up the tent of Moloch and the star of the god Raiphan, the types which you made to worship them, and I will change your dwelling beyond Babylon.’

.44The tent of the witness was with our fathers in the desert-place according as He throughly-arranged, the (One) uttering-forth to Moses to make it according to the type which he had seen; .45which our fathers, having accepted (it) with Joshua, also led in the held-possession of the Gentiles, whom God thrust-out from (the) face of our fathers, until the days of David .46who found grace before God and asked-for-himself to find a pitched-tent for the God of Jacob, .47and Solomon built a house for Him –

.48but the Highest does not dwell-down in handmade-things according as the prophet says, .49‘Heaven (is) My throne and the earth (is the) footstool of My feet - you will build what-kind-of house for Me?, (the) Lord says, or what (is the) place of My rest?’ .50(Did) not (God say), ‘My hand made all these-things’? - (yes.) .51Hard-necked-people and not-circumcised-people with (your) hearts and with (your) ears! You always fall-against the Spirit, the Holy (Spirit) – as your fathers also you.

.52Who of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed the (people) having messaged-beforehand concerning the coming of the righteous-one of-whom now you became betrayers and murderers, .53the-people-who received the law into (the) arrangement of the angels and you did not keep-watch!"

.54But hearing these-things they were sawn-asunder to their hearts and they gnashed the teeth on him. .55But being-from-the-beginning full of holy spirit, having gazed-intently into the heaven he saw God’s glory and Jesus having stood² out-from (the) right-sides of God, .56and he said, "Look!, I view-with-attention the heavens having been throughly-opened², and the son of man having stood² out-from (the) right-sides of God."

.57But having shouted with a great sound they held their ears together and rushed like-mindedly on him, .58and having thrown (him) out outside the city they threw-stones-at (him); and the witnesses put their outer-garments away-from-themselves beside the feet of a young-man being called Saul .59and they threw-stones-at Stephen calling-upon (the Lord Jesus) to-himself and saying, Lord Jesus, you must accept my spirit, .60and having knelt-down he shouted with a great sound, Lord, may you not cause this sin to stand to them, and having said this he was caused-to-sleep.

    Chapter 8

⁸:¹But Saul was considering-it-good-together with (others) at his elimination. And a great persecution came-to-pass in that day on the church, the (church) in Jerusalem, and they were all scattered-throughout according to the countries of Judea and Samaria besides the apostles. .2And devout adult-males carried Stephen together and they made great lamentation on him. .3But Saul treated the church outrageously journeying-into (and) according to the houses, hauling both adult-males and women he gave (them) over into prison. .4Therefore indeed the (people) having been scattered went-through good-messaging the word.

.5But Philip having gone-down into the city of Samaria heralded-forth the Christ to them, .6and the crowds had-attention like-mindedly to the-things being said by Philip in them hearing and observing the signs which he did, .7for many-people, of the (people) having unclean spirits (which were) crying-aloud with a great sound were caused to go-out (from them), and many-people having been paralyzed² and lame-people were attended-to, .8and there became much joy in that city.

.9But some adult-male, Simon by-name, was-beforehand in the city practicing-magic and bewildering the nation of Samaria saying himself to be someone great, .10to whom all-people had-attention, from small until great, saying, "This-person is the ability of God, the (ability) being called: great," .11and they had-attention to him because-of the sufficient time (which he had) with the magical-things to have bewildered² them.

.12But when they believed Philip good-messaging concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both adult-males and women were baptized – .13and Simon himself also believed, and having been baptized he was being strong with Philip, viewing-with-attention both signs and great abilities coming-to-pass he was bewildered.

.14But the apostles in Jerusalem having heard that Samaria had accepted² the word of God, they apostled Peter and John towards them, .15the-people-who having descended prayed concerning them so-that they may receive holy spirit .16for it was not-yet having fallen² on not-one of them, but they began-to-be only having been baptized²
