    Preface

It is my desire to make known God’s Word and Will, so that people will have the opportunity to be saved, come to full knowledge of the truth, and live in accordance with God’s intention. God’s Word was and is and will continue to be Truth. It is the Word of Life.

This book includes information about the following:

    o New covenant believers: Christians

o The gift of holy spirit

o Christ has made redemption available

I have studied and continue to study the Greek papyri and texts of the Bible extensively, and it is from these that I make my Word Translation and Study to provide this in-depth study aid.

The words that the only true God spoke are the best words to communicate His thoughts. It is because of mankind’s interference, mistranslations, etc, of what God spoke and/or what was written down, and because mankind has removed himself in his thinking so far away from God’s thoughts and words, that I endeavor to help all of us come-back to the integrity and truth of what God says - His Word - His thoughts - His will.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss or comment on this Word Translation and Study via the Contact link on https://www.TrueBibleStudy.com.

Thanks to God for His love and grace.

    Relevant Notes

Unless otherwise stated, all scriptures are quoted from one of the following:

o The True Bible Study Word Translation (TBS) is translated from the Greek Papyri and Texts by Maura K. Hill.

o The King James Version (KJV) uses italic type to inform the reader that the translators added the word(s) in italic type.

The various resources and reference materials are listed at https://www.truebiblestudy.com/bible-materials.

In the TBS Word Translation and Study:

o Words in a parenthesis () and italicized within a scripture verse are words inserted to help our English understanding of those words which are translated from Greek words.

o Words in a parenthesis () in the study of the scripture verse are words of explanation regarding the words prior to the parenthesis.

o Additional explanatory insertions within a scripture verse are enclosed in square brackets [] and italicized.

o Additional explanatory notes in the study of a scripture verse are enclosed in square brackets [] and are usually in relation to the Greek or Hebrew texts.

o A slash in the study of a scripture verse, such as: him/her, indicates an alternative word depending on the context.

o A dash, such as: go there – to Jerusalem, indicates that a certain word or phrase is particularly important or deserving of extra emphasis.

o Hyphenated words, such as: used-to-go, indicates that there is only one corresponding word in the Greek text.

o Non-English words are printed with English letters.

o I use an initial capital letter for all occurrences of the words Lord and Master when referring to either God or the Lord Jesus Christ due to my respect for them, therefore the reader will need to carefully consider the context of each particular usage to understand to whom that usage refers.

o Where the word spirit refers to God, I use an initial capital or upper-case S - Spirit. But when the word spirit refers to the gift of holy spirit, etc, I use a small or lower-case s - spirit.

o Underlined text is used for the English word but when translated from the Greek word alla to show that it implies a strong contrast to that-which has just previously been stated, and/or to strengthen a command.

o Underlined text is used for the singular form of the word you to distinguish it from the plural form of the word you which is not underlined.

o Underlined text is also used for emphasis.

o In order to communicate the fullness of the emphasis when the Greek definite article is repeated both with the noun and its adjective - for example: I Corinthians 15:4 the Greek is te hemera te trite, which literally means the day the third - I translate it as "the day, the third (day)."

o Verbs in the imperfect tense are translated with the words used-to and then the meaning of the verb.

o For example: used-to teach indicates that the one teaching spent time teaching, his action of teaching continued during a past time that is now finished for some reason, not that it was a quick one-time occurrence. The one teaching taught others taking time to teach, and he may have repeated his teaching at different times and in different ways. This tense is also used to historically describe past events relating what happened.

o Verbs in the perfect tense are translated from Greek with a superscript number 2 immediately following the verb - for example: it was written². This tense indicates an action done during a past time and which has a present continuing result, meaning it is still the same at the time the verb was spoken or written. Therefore, this example could be translated as: it was written and continues written.

o The noun love¹ or the verb to love¹ comes from the Greek word agape which is God’s kind of love.

When the Biblical writers wrote, there were no punctuation marks, no chapter or verse divisions indicated, etc, as we see them today in many of our English Bible translations and versions. Therefore we must read the whole context of each particular passage of Scripture for thought-content to more clearly understand the truth of what has been written.

Also, the original language was not English, and therefore when I may write that the writer said or wrote such and such, please understand that the writer actually spoke and wrote in the original language the equivalent to that-which I state in the English language to the best of my knowledge.

I recommend that while reading this book, you also have your usual Bible and Biblical study materials open, so as to compare verses and gain greater understanding of the truth of God’s Word.

    Introduction to Galatians

This Book of Galatians is a letter (epistle) that was written by the Apostle Paul to the churches of Galatia that were located in central Asia Minor. These people were holy-people (sanctified-people, Christians, saints, children of the only true God) because they had already received the gift of holy spirit from God by means of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Paul had previously preached the good-message (gospel, evangel) to them and they had believed it. These holy-people were of the Judean/Israeli background or of the Gentile/other-nations background.

Paul wrote this letter by revelation to remind and teach the holy-people more of that-which God has made available to mankind by means of the Lord Jesus Christ. This includes the truth regarding the gift of holy spirit which is the token of the new covenant of spirit, the new creation, the truth that Christ has redeemed all holy-people from the curse of the law, and the truth that circumcision and uncircumcision are no longer pertinent to/for holy-people.

There is uncertainty as to the time of the writing of this letter; it is claimed that it was written either between 51-53 A.D. from Antioch or between 57-58 A.D. from Macedonia.

    Word Translation - Galatians

    Chapter 1

¹:¹Paul, an apostle, not from men nor by means of man but by means of Jesus Christ and God (the) Father, the (One) having raised him up from dead-people, .2and all the brothers together with me – to the churches of Galatia; .3grace to you and peace from God (the) Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, .4the (one) having given himself concerning our sins so-that he may take us to-himself from the age of the evil having stood-in², according to the intention of God (Who is) also our Father .5to Whom (is) the glory into the ages of the ages, with-certainty.

.6I marvel that thus quickly you change from the (One) having called you in grace into a different good-message .7which is not another except there are some-people disturbing you and intending to turn the good-message of Christ –

.8but even if-ever we or an angel from heaven may good-message to you against that-which we good-messaged to you, he must be a cursed-offering, .9as we said-beforehand², and now again I say: if some (person or angel) good-messages (among) you against that-which you received (from us), he must be a cursed-offering.

.10For do I now persuade men or God? Or do I seek-after to please men? If I yet used-to-please men I used not ever be a slave of Christ! .11But I make known to you, brothers, the good-message, the (good-message) having been good-messaged by me, that it is not according to man, .12for neither did I receive it from man nor have I been taught (it by man), but by means of revelation of Jesus Christ.

    .13For you heard (about) my behavior when in Judaism that according to a super-throw I used-to-persecute the church of God and I used-to-lay her waste, .14and I used-to-advance in Judaism over many equal-aged-people in my genus, more-exceedingly being-from-the-beginning a zealot of my fathers’ traditions;

.15but when the (One) having separated me from my mother’s womb [and having called by means of His grace] considered-it-good .16to reveal His son in me in order that I may good-message him among the Gentiles, immediately I did not add-up-from-myself to flesh and blood, .17neither did I go into Jerusalem towards the apostles before me, but I went-away into Arabia and again I returned into Damascus.

.18Next after three years I went-up into Jerusalem to inquire-into Cephas and I remained-on with him fifteen days, .19but I did not see a different-one of the apostles except James, the brother of the Lord; .20but the-things I write to you, look!, before God that I lie not.

.21Next I went into the regions of Syria and of Cilicia .22but I was being-unknown by face by the churches of Judea, the (churches) in Christ, .23but only they were hearing that "the (person) persecuting us at-some-time now good-messages the belief which at-some-time he used-to lay-waste," .24and they used-to-glorify God in me.

    Chapter 2

²:¹Next through fourteen years, again I ascended into Jerusalem with Barnabas, having taken Titus also together with (me), .2but I ascended according to revelation, and I put-up-from-myself to them the good-message which I herald-forth among the Gentiles, but privately to the (people) considering, lest-somehow I may run or I ran into emptiness,

.3but not-even Titus, the (person) together with me being a Greek, was constrained to be circumcised, .4but because-of the led-in-beside lying-brothers, the-people-who came-in-beside to scope-down our freedom which we have in Christ Jesus in order that they will enslave us, .5to whom we yielded with subjection not-even towards an hour in order that the truth of the good-message may throughly-remain with you.

.6But from the (people) considering to be something, what-kind they used-to-be at-some-time it differs nothing to me, God does not receive (the) face of man – for to me the (people) considering added-up-from-themselves nothing, .7but contrariwise, having
