    Anti-bloat Diet - L.T. Zibenski

    Introduction

Too much gas in the gastrointestinal tract is the main culprit for bloating and belching.

When you belch, the gas that has accumulated in your stomach has followed the path of less resistance, risen upward up your esophagus, and is expelled through your mouth. But when the gas accumulates in the colon or the small intestine, it can be moved easily, resulting to smelly breaking-wind.

Although belching and odorous social encounters can be embarrassing, it is also a sign that your digestive system is working properly and is in good health. When the otherwise happens, you experience that heavy, full feeling after every meal, and it’s not always because you ate too much. More often, bloating happens when the gas accumulates within the loops of your small intestine. Trapped gas causes the belly to swell, the skin to stretch, and sometimes, become so painful to touch, that you will feel the need to loosen your pants or belt.

But what causes too much gas in your gastro-intestinal tract?

Too much air swallowed while eating, poor sugar (carbohydrate) digestion, unhealthy microbiome of good and bad bacteria in the gut, stress, smoking, too much alcohol, gum chewing, and unhealthy eating are often the cause of a sluggish and inefficient digestion, which, in turn, causes bloating because the gas in stomach, a product of digestion, does not get expelled properly.

So when you seem to be bloated all the time, you may need to inspect the foods you eat for they may be the cause of your discomfort after every meal.

This book will tackle how the food we eat causes bloat. This book
