    ‘Oh crap!’ I arrived at the gym entrance area already feeling slightly out of breath after racing from the car park in the hope that my appointment would still be open.

    I had been meant to meet my assigned personal trainer and start the first of my extensive workouts for the year. But I had completely lost track of time getting stuck at a work meeting. I hoped I had not turned up too late. The signs were not good as I noticed that there was no receptionist behind the welcome desk and there was only a few people within the gym who now looked like they were all winding down and getting ready to go home as I noted what looked like a young group of gym friends packing and zipping up their gym bags.

    My new resolution was not getting off to a good start. I had vowed to start regularly exercising and going to the gym to become a new and improved version of myself. Well, at the very least a thinner and toner version of me, someone that Paul would find attractive once again if I got a chance to bump into him.
