    ‘Vincent!’

    ‘Theresa, are you really that surprised to see me?’ I tried to remove all traces of irritation from my voice.

    ‘I wasn’t sure...that you would come, I...do you want to come in?’

    ‘Do you need to ask,’ I spoke bluntly. I was not in the mood to go easy on her even as I watched her fumble nervously with her key as she opened the door.

    We walked into her apartment in silence right into her small living room area, with my emotions being a mix as I took in a quick glimpse of her sparsely furnished habitat.

    When she finally turned to stand directly opposite from me, I took my time to take in her familiar appearance. Her long, thick dark hair that I had held many times in my hands and weaved through my fingers, which framed her heart shaped face and accentuated her big brown eyes.
