‘Chantelle my wonderful darling girl!’
I was taken aback at my mentor’s visible high spirits as she came hastily to meet me as soon as I exited out of the restroom. She then proceeded to lead me a side to a quiet corner within the grand estate that was filled with crowds of party goers, all acting merry and tipsy whilst wearing costumes and masquerade masks to help conceal their identity.
‘What is it Madam Rose? Has anything happened since we last spoke to make you so...well....to make you so happy?!’
I could not help but smile with bemusement it was just that I had never seen my mentor like this before bursting with obvious excitement and she was actually gazing at me with a measure of pride, which was in complete contrast to earlier in the day when she had been in a far more serious and critical mood with me as we spent literally hours preparing for this evening’s grand ball.
