    Information Marketing - Kay Franklin

    Introduction

First of all I want to give you some background on how the information marketing model works and what you will need in place for it to function successfully. Here are the important items that you will need:

You need to know your niche topic

You need to know what problem your product solves

You need to know who your ideal customers are

You need to know how to get visibility to those customers

You need to know how to build an email list so that you can communicate with them

You need to know how to build a trusting relationship in your email campaign so that they will purchase from you

So, does that sound too simple? I like to work as simply as possible and make things straight forward. What is the point in making things so complicated that most people never even try? Or if they do they get lost along the way!

Whether you are a beginner or not sometimes it is hard to put everything together and know that it is all working together in the right way.

Therefore in this book I want to focus on the big picture of what information marketing is and how it works. Once you understand that you can get down to building your own profitable information business.

The focus of this book is going to be on squeezing profit out of everything that you're doing online. Whether it’s building your list, driving traffic, sending emails, etc. Everything must ultimately serve the purpose of bringing in revenue. It is a business after all!

    How Is Money Made Online?

There is only one way that you can make money online:

    someone sells something

    and then someone buys it!

Money is only generated when one person sells something to another person. If there was money floating around and up for grabs it would be great but it's not! So don't be fooled into believing that you can make money online without any effort! It's just not true!

Even if you are not a product creator yourself but instead promote other peoples products as an affiliate for example, you still only generate commission when someone buys the product.

In the information marketing model that I use and teach, I promote creating your own products – quickly. Let's look at an example for you to get an idea of the money you could be generating if you were the product creator.

Suppose you are selling a $500 product or training program. If you have produced that training program yourself what happens when someone purchases it? You get virtually all of the $500 – almost 100% of the sale.

Now suppose you sell a $500 training program but you are not the product creator, instead you are an affiliate. Let's also suppose that you get a commission of 50% (that is a very generous commission rate!). When someone purchases the product they pay $500 but only $250 of that sale is passed on to you! Half the amount. But you have done all the work of promoting the product, getting the traffic and selling it!

If you could create your own training program and I  show you how to do that very easily in my free download, wouldn't it make a huge difference to your revenue if you were making 100% of all sales?

Stop and have a think about it. Who knows most about any product – the person who produced it or the person who might be selling it? In fact, if you create your own products then you will be able to market it far better because you know exactly what problem it solves and therefore who the target customer is.

I hope you are beginning to see that producing information products yourself can be highly profitable!

How Do You Charge For Information?

Whatever niche or topic you choose to create information products about, what you are going to do is this:

Teach other people something that they want to know about.

Teach other people how to do something specific.

Teach other people general information about a topic that interests them.

    Here's an example:

Suppose your niche is about fitness. You would go out and find the topics of
