About this ebook

Leila Brooks is unhappy since she realizes that color doesn’t matter when it comes to what the heart needs. Evan Hunter is the man she loves, but he leaves her no choice but to forgive Troy, and try to make their relationship work.

Evan Hunter made the wrong decision when he allowed Jessica back into his life, but he learned quickly that it was a mistake, especially when Leila walked out and said, “You’re going to miss me, Evan Hunter.” Evan is determined to make everything right and get Leila back by any means necessary. This billionaire doesn’t fight fair, especially when he realizes he can’t live without Leila.

    What The Heart Needs

    Part 3

    Chapter 1: Leila

Just when I thought I felt this intense feeling for Evan and had finally given up on Troy, bam knocked down again. For some reason I hurt more when it was Evan than Troy. I felt like I was facing off with Merriweather and I had just gotten hit in the gut, and I’m face down on the canvass and the referee is counting, One, two, you’re out. What the hell?

Evan and I had been making serious love together and having mind blowing sex then in walks Jessica. I would have bet a million dollars on Evan, if I had it, that he would send Jessica packing but instead, he sends me home. Shouldn’t that work the other way around, I ask myself, taking the walk of shame to the limo setting outside waiting for me, ready to take me into a different world; back to reality.

He didn’t have the decency to escort me to the car. Not that I would want him to. I would just as well thrown something at him, slap his face, and make a scene in the lobby if I was that kind of woman, but I’m not.

There are disadvantages to accepting things as they are without so much as putting up a fight. One disadvantage is feeling like and looking like a fool. At least if I had rushed into the room, cursed Evan, and confronted Jessica telling her that Evan had his head between my legs, I would have felt better. A damn side better than I do now.

At the time I discovered Troy’s betrayal, I walked quietly out of his club and didn’t make a scene when he had a waitress spread eagle across his desk, and he was laying pipe all in her. I ask myself, what would Tamika have done? I can answer that. She would have marched in that office with one high heel on
