Falling For A Billionaire (The Reluctant Brides, #1) - Destiny Genesis Hope

    CHAPTER 1

Dynasty Jasmeka was definitely beautiful. Her chocolate brown skin and hazel eyes in the backdrop of her long semi perm jet black hair she had a figure that any man would desire. Dynasty stood at her North Carolina apartment window and indifferently watched the traffic below as her eyes came to rest on the envelope in her hand which contained the eviction notice. She could not believe Wilhelm Jacob her landlord could do this to her.

Dynasty lost her parents in a plane crash when they were on their way to London. Their bodies were never found. Her father Walter Jasmeka had been severely in debt to his business partner and Dynasty was left with barely anything once she had settled Hank Ferret of what her father owed him.

Dynasty sighed as she walked back into the living room and sat down still holding the eviction notice. Wilhelm Jacob, her landlord, had sent it to her under registered cover through his lawyer.  She was at wits end not knowing what she was to do. Her parents did not leave her with any means of survival and this apartment was her sanctuary. She needed to keep it as she needed a place to live rather than a home.

At least your Dad had the presence of mind to pay in full for your MFA and University studies, her best friend Tiffany had said.

Having graduated from the University of Berkley, she put her heart and soul into her painting.

How silly of me to her thought that I could pursue my dreams of being a top artist some day. I should have known better, but then how could I have knows that Mom and Dad would leave me to face the music alone, she said to herself.

Dynasty smiled when she remembered how angry her mother had been when she found the bedroom walls sporting a kaleidoscope of drawings in various colors. It was after that that her parents presented with enough drawing paper, watercolors and pastels.

She walked back to the sofa and sat down with a sigh and almost jumped out of her skin when she heard the doorbell ring.

Who could it be?" Dynasty asked herself.

Looking through the peephole, her heart sank to her feet when she was Wilhelm Jacob her landlord, at the door.

Sighing deeply she released the door chair and opened the door.

    Hello Dynasty, said Wilhelm.

Hello, Mr. Jacob. Do come in, she said opening the door wider for Wilhelm to enter.

Her landlord sat down and looked around the little apartment which was always neat and tidy. Dynasty had learned to keep a lovely home from her mother, who used to be a wonderful housewife and a grand hostess.

Wilhelm knew she would have received the eviction notice and Dynasty knew he had come to discuss her vacating the apartment.

Dynasty, I am sorry I had no alternative but to serve an eviction notice on you. You are three months in arrears of rent and Virginia is hounding me on a daily basis that I come and see you, said Wilhelm.

She looked up at Wilhelm as the tears threatened to fall.

I am sorry Dynasty, said Wilhelm.

    That’s alright Mr. Jacob.

You have one more month my dear, said Wilhelm hoping that his words would bring a little comfort to Dynasty.

    Dynasty nodded.

There is no place for a freelance artist today Dynasty. You need to think seriously about your life and maybe even look for a job, said Wilhelm as he prepared to leave.

Dynasty saw Wilhelm to the door and watched as he drove away.

She closed the door and leaned against it looking up at the ceiling. She knew that she would have to leave, but where would she go? Dynasty did not have any money left in her bank account except for the hundred dollars she kept for an emergency.

I need to think of what I am to do, she thought.

Dynasty walked aimlessly around the apartment and she almost jumped when she felt her cell phone vibrate in her trouser pocket. She began to scare at every little thing.

She looked at the caller ID and saw that it was Tiffany, her best friend.

Good old Tiffany, she thought as she answered the phone.

    Hello Dynasty,

    Hello, said Dynasty sounding distraught.

    Hey, Dynasty is everything okay?

Dynasty shook her head and then realized Tiffany could not see her.

No Tiffany everything is not okay, said Dynasty sadly.

I am coming over now, said Tiffany.

Half an hour later Tiffany and Dynasty sat in the living room. Dynasty told her friend about the eviction notice and Wilhelm Jacob‘s visit.

Tiffany I cannot make money on my paintings and don’t have the funds to advertise them as well, said Dynasty.

    Tiffany nodded.

She sometimes felt angry with Dynasty’s parents for being so inconsiderate. Dynasty was their only child and they should have thought about her welfare rather than jet across the
