About this ebook

Cassandrea is a beautiful young model and engaged to a baseball star. She seems to have it all.

Cassandrea Latavia was blessed with beauty and brains, but when it came to deciding her future in the form of marriage, her brain refused to see the stark truth of the deceitfulness of her highly successful fiancé.

Leaving your fiancé at the altar on your wedding day is something one would never have heard of, especially when the groom is the baseball star of the Giants but Cassandrea did it, even so it meant that her character got slaughtered in public from all the newspaper tabloids.

“Cassandrea Latavia, do you take Michael Scott to be your lawful wedded husband and be true to him in good times and bad, sickness and health and will you honor and love him all the days of your life?”

Cassandrea looked at Michael, and she raised her veil.

“No, I will not,” she said and then dropping her bouquet at the altar she turned and fled down the aisle and out of the church. The limo driver was shocked to see her and automatically opened the door as she headed straight for the limo.

Defaced in society Cassandrea is not to be put down.

Will her determination and strength to survive give her the life she longed for? Will she find love again?

The premise was good, but the dialogue was stilted and unrealistic. The story was rushed - no real progression of intimacy between the man and woman.

Catching A Billionaire - Destiny Genesis Hope

CHAPTER 1

Cassandrea Latavia stood on the balcony of her apartment on the thirtieth floor of Daisy Villa Apartments a glass of untouched sherry in her hand. She had just returned that morning from a modeling assignment. It was a hectic evening the previous day and Cassandrea was tired.

Cassandrea was a tall dusky girl with a chocolate brown skin, dark hair cut in a short crop of tiny curls and hazel brown eyes set in an oval face. She was the picture of her mother. Her father was American and her mother, African. Jay was Cassandrea’s only brother and was away studying for his law degree at Berkley University. While other girls Cassandrea’s age craved to have a figure like Cassandrea’s, she did not think much of it.

Losing her mother three years ago to cancer, Cassandrea’s world had come crashing around her ears. Wilma had not suffered too much and died within three months of diagnosis. Her father was heartbroken after the death of Wilma and he confined himself to his room. Two years ago Cassandrea had taken his cup of morning coffee and found Dunstan icy cold, but his face looked serene. Her father had died in his sleep. Cassandrea was devastated as her thoughts raced to Jay, who had just started his university studies at Berkley. After the funeral of their father, Jay had wanted to come back home, but Cassandrea vehemently stopped him from coming and said that she would see that he finished his law degree without a problem. Jay had been very grateful to his sister as he knew that she had only him and he only her. Cassandrea sighed and walked back into the living room.

Cassandrea had quit her job at Fashion Unlimited to take up modeling, but now she wondered whether she had made a wrong decision. Her ample figure and perfect curves in the right places had all the men in the audience ogling at her, while their wives and girlfriends pouted. The income was good, but with it came trouble in the form of men who desired her body and some who never knew how to take no for an answer. This job no longer had appeal and Cassandrea felt that if she continued as a part-time model she would fall into a lot of troubles.

Cassandrea was sick of it all. She jumped when her mobile phone vibrated in her trouser pocket. Flipping the cover open she saw that the call was from Michael. She and Michael had been dating each other for over a year, but his job with The Giants as a top baseball player took him around the world and they hardly saw each other.

Hello darling, said Michael.

Hello love, said Cassandrea smiling into the phone.

I have a meeting with the coach the whole of the morning Cassandrea. But I will pick you up at seven tonight. We could go out for dinner and then maybe get back to my place, said Michael.

That would be lovely Michael, said Cassandrea. Michael could not ignore the fact that he felt that Cassandrea was not as enthusiastic as she had been before.

Are you alright love? asked Michael.

Cassandrea hesitated for a while.

Oh yeah I am, I truly am alright. See you at seven Michael, she said and the hung up.

Michael stared at his mobile for a long time drumming his fingers on the table. He had signed up a contract with the Giants and was a top baseball player. He knew that his job took him all around the world and it was true he did not have the time to be with Cassandrea, but then Cassandrea knew what she was walking into when they had first met. Michael had explained that his contract with the Giants was signed for five years and he had a commitment to the team. At first Cassandrea was alright with it, but Michael felt that she was drifting away now. The best thing would be if they decided to get married. Cassandrea would then feel secure. Michael decided he would pop the question to Cassandrea that night at dinner.

Michael recollected the day he had met Cassandrea. She had finished her stint of modeling and had come to the bar of the Marriott. Cassandrea had ordered a fruit juice and from the corner of his eye he saw a hefty man come up behind Cassandrea and put his arm around her waist. Cassandrea had dropped her drink and pushed the man away. Michael had been quick to come to her rescue and had given the man a black eye in the process.

Are you okay? Michael had asked Cassandrea.

Cassandrea was shivering from head to toe.

Can I give you a ride home?

Cassandrea had nodded and picked up her handbag. She
