THE STORY SO FAR: Kathy and Lisa are staying with Kathy’s old school friend, Nina, in Sidari, Corfu. The pair are both recovering from painful break-ups and the Corfu sunshine, combined with Nina’s life-drawing and Greek cookery classes, seem like the perfect way for them to forget about men and enjoy a break. Sidari is also home to a stretch of water called The Channel of Love, and local legend claims that couples swimming in its waters will fall in love. Kathy has already been tempted by an old flame, the devilishly handsome Cam Hunt, when he crops up as the model in their first life-drawing class, and he is clearly still attracted to her. While on their first evening out, Lisa is thrown into emotional turmoil by the charming chef and restaurant owner, Alex. When things get heated between them, she rebuffs him. But is The Channel already working its magic on the two women?
When Kathy and Lisa arrived for their cookery class the next day, Lisa was immediately confronted with Alex, who was setting out food and utensils with his daughter Carissa, in preparation for that morning’s session.
She’d hoped Alex might seem less alluring in the cold light of day, and without the influence of the wine. But, alas, the day was not cold, but already warm and balmy, and Alex was just as desirable as he’d been the night before.
