Chapter 1 - Introduction to End Time Prophecies

It is somewhat difficult to understand the prophecies of the apocalypse (also referred to as the great tribulation) as set forth if the Book of Revelation, unless you understanding the ancient prophecies and codes of the Old Testament.  For many years I painstakingly searched for a reference book that listed all of the major prophecies, and that explains the key prophecies that help unlock the secrets of the apocalypse; but I never really discovered one. This is why I decided to create this book for my readers. 

You will be amazed when you discover how many end time prophecies are found within the ancient scriptures of the Torah and the Old Testament of the bible.  You will see how many of the ancient prophecies have already been fulfilled - to the letter!

Some want you to believe that the apocalypse is all non-sense science fiction stuff; and even if it is not so - that it will not happen for many years or centuries in the future.  Naturally if someone does not want to accept a reality, they will rationalize and spin it anyway that they think makes sense, and that makes them feel content with themselves.  They feel okay about denying the truth, because it allows them to live freely with no regard to our mortal state or any consequences thereof.  If they kept their ignorance to themselves it would be the lesser of evils, but then they convince the impressionable that the ancient writings are "no longer relevant"; old fashioned stuff that is not applicable to our "modern times.  I guess aggravated chaos; hatred, corruption, poverty and war are the fruits of the modern times" that we live in today!

The bible is NOT old fashioned as these unbelievers think.  It is more relevant today than ever before.  In fact, after reading this book, you will know that the prophecies are all pointing to the time that you and I live in today as that generation that will soon experience the apocalypse. 

There exists no other book that has foretold future events which have all come to pass like the holy bible.

To deny this is to have no knowledge of these prophecies. The bible is not just a storybook of tales as the lost want others to believe.  It is the inspired word of God through His prophets and servants.  Its scriptures and declarations have withstood the test of time.  It is a book of laws, truths, instructions, prophecies, and warnings for mankind.  Its words nourish our mind, spirit and soul. The bible is mankind's instruction manual, teaching us how to function most effectively in this life.

There is no other god that can silence the truth contained in the inspired word of God contained in the Bible.  Though multitudes of saints and prophets have been silenced because of the testimony of God, and though millions of bibles have been burned at the altar of Satan, the word has survived all of these attempts to conceal the truth.  The light cannot be destroyed because it is not the will of God!  The bible remains the most enduring and most read book in the history of mankind.

As Jesus promised:  "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away". Matthew 24:35

From Bible study.org I share the following statistics.  The Bible Society of the United Kingdom calculates that by 1992, the estimated number of bibles printed was six billion - but by 2007 it is estimated to be over 7 billion bibles printed (here we see the divine number 7 at play again). This means there is roughly one copy of God's word for every person on earth! Clearly, the Bible is the bestselling book of all time! These figures do not include the multitude of digital versions of the scriptures that are accessed today by computers, smart phones, iPads, etc.

I believe that the above estimates are correct, and that they fulfill another crucial requirement for the time of the end.  It fulfills a key prophecy in Revelation 14 that reveals that the end cannot come until all the world has been given the opportunity to hear or read the truth.  The opportunity to know the truth is now everywhere whether mankind decides to take it or not.  This fulfills the following passage:

Rev. 14:6-7

"Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth - to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people;saying with a loud voice, "Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water."

NOTE: Let me give you another interesting tidbit from my book "Apocalypse Countdown 2015 to 2021".  The number seven is God's divine number. God rested on the seventh day.  Google estimates that the world population is 7 billion!  There are over 7 billion bibles published to date. Bible scholars believe that the age of man spans 6000 years and that after the apocalypse the Millennium begins, which will conclude on the 7000th year!  When we go back 6,000 years, it is the time of Adam and Eve at around 4000 BC.  When we add 6000 years to the time of Adam and Eve we arrive at 2000 AD - folks we are the last generation that will witness the fulfillment of all the biblical prophecies.  It may not be today, tomorrow or next year; but we are at the threshold of the second coming and the end of this age.

In the Holy Scriptures, it is said that the testimony of two witnesses is true (John 8:17).  And that is the very principle that I applied to select many key end time prophecies for you.  So I engaged in an exhaustive study of all passages where prophecies, particularly end time prophecies, are repeated more than once by the ancient prophets.  There should be little doubt that the Almighty wanted to put extra emphasis on passages that are repeated in more than one place because of their importance to mankind; especially for those living at the time of the end.

I have added commentary in the form of notes for you following certain passages that reveal key prophecies that are especially noteworthy for understanding these last days that we are living in.  Before we begin let's review some key definitions applicable to our study:

Key Definitions:

666: this is the number of the antichrist also referred to as the beast

Angels:  Heavenly beings that are God's messengers and the protectors of God's elect; that perform God's will in heaven and on earth.

Antichrist - this is the man of perdition, also referred to as the beast; fully possessed by Satan - he will be the leader of the one world government that will reign at the time of the end.

Gentiles: this term refers to all peoples and nations not in the blood lineage of one of the 12 tribes of Israel.  It also refers in some parts of the prophecies to the Christian and Christian nations even though they are adopted into the blood lineage of Israel through the blood sacrifice of the Messiah.

Jesus Christ - We all know who He is.  However in the scriptures and prophecies, He is also referred to as follows: the Chief Cornerstone, Emmanuel, the Rock; Lion of Judah, Messiah, Prince of Peace, Stone, High priest of heaven, Messiah, Alpha and Omega, Bright Morning Star, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Good Shepherd, Lamb of God, Son of God - these are just some of the attributes given to Jesus Christ.

The Book of Life - Consists of the names of all who are destined for eternal life.  These are the elect who accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and who believe that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the sovereign God of the universe.

Beast: A term referred to the antichrist; the man of perdition who will be the son of Satan, not through inception but through demonic possession.  He will reign supreme for 3.5 years at the time of the end.  With the assistance of all who are not written in the book of life, he will receive authority for about 3.5 years of the 7 year apocalypse.  This period is also referred to as the great tribulation, and will cause such chaos and devastation that it will trigger the end of this age, and the return of Messiah. Yet even all of this will be under the authority and control of Almighty God.

Hills and Mountains: in the prophecies, these refer to cities, nations, and or continents.  I believe that cities refer to nations and mountains refer to continents.

Prince: A position lower than a king.  Jesus is the prince of peace until He returns as the King of Kings. A prince may also refer to a powerful demonic angel (such as revealed in the book of Daniel) under the authority of the prince of darkness who is in control of and influences the leaders and or peoples of a nation or region.  Note that despite all his efforts, Satan will never be bestowed the title of king, he will remain a prince until even that is taken away - and he is no more.

Satan: he is referred to as the adversary, great dragon; serpent, Lucifer, devil, prince of Darkness, prince of the power of the air.

He will do everything in his power (and his power is great, unless blocked by the blood of Christ) to deceive every human being whether saved or unsaved to accept his one way ticket to hell. As children blessed with the free choice to become sons of the sovereign God of the universe we must resist Satan and all of his delusions and lies.  Once in power by decree of the majority, he will do everything in his power to destroy all the good that God created in this great green earth. 

Note: And by the way, all who believe that global warming will bring about the end of days are just believing another lie that man can control his destiny and or that God is so weak that He cannot control the weather. More on this later.

Star: a star can be a literal star, or an asteroid.  It can also describe an angelic or divine being.  For example Jesus describes Himself as: the Bright and Morning Star (Revelation 22:16)

There are many other keywords that help unlock the prophecy codes, and more are covered in the following chapters.

As we embark in this journey exploring the key prophecies of the apocalypse, I want you to keep in mind the following: The God of the bible, and he who claims to be His son (Jesus) make very provocative declarations and statements that have all withstood the test of time.  No other god or entity has been able to alter, destroy or contest the living word of Almighty God.
