    Dedication

    ––––––––

I dedicate this book to my Sister Janet, who through her spirit of generosity, love, inner strength and determination has taught me to persevere regardless of any challenges that we may encounter in life.

I am also blessed with a wonderful immediate and extended family, and of course - our precious Parents.  All have served as a great source of inspiration, and encouragement for me and for us as a family unit.

Chapter 1 - The Power of the Spoken Word of God

The bible is God's handbook for mankind. In it is all the wisdom that we will ever need to live an abundant life full of God's blessings and favor.

I am going to share great Bible verses that can be applied to just about any circumstance that we may encounter throughout our journey here on earth.

It is important to memorize at least a few bible passages, because the spoken word is very powerful; and no spoken word is more powerful than the word of Almighty GodWhen we commit bible verses to memory, we can recite them out load whenever the enemy attacks us. Words can manifest themselves into the physical realm, so we must choose them wisely.

We Should Cite Bible Verses when we Pray

Prayer is what gets us saved, and that alone is a testament to how powerful words and prayer are!  God creates miracles and blessing through our words  God changes the fate of man and nations through the prayers of the faithful. Every word that we pray is recorded in Heaven forever!  We read this in the following passage:

    Revelation 8:3

"Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne."

When we pray, we should cite specific passages related to whatever it is that we are praying for.  If we learn to harness the Power of Prayer, prayer can change any circumstance. Prayer can heal the sick, heal your finances, and it can do anything that is good for you. I thank God every day for the privilege of prayer.  It is a blessing from God to us, giving us the right for us to communicate one on one with Almighty God!  What an awesome and powerful privilege, weapon and blessing.  And oh how under-utilized it is by so many.

Throughout history, nations and peoples have been restored and blessed through the prayers of its citizens. We read this promise in the following passage:

    2 Chronicles 7:14:

"If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and heal their land."

As you will see, the bible offers many verses on healing.

Healing comes from the Holy Spirit. God can give you back your health and even restore back time for you that may have been lost due to illness.  Let me premise the fact that God and the word can heal by saying that it requires faith and also that when God says it is time to go home, it is time.  Also, God created doctors, hospitals and medicine for the benefit of mankind - so always seek medical attention first on any afflictions that you may have. Notwithstanding, God does extend a person's life if God wishes!  let's read the following example.....

In the book of Isaiah Chapter 38:1, we learn that King Hezekiah, who had much faith in the Lord, fell sick and Isaiah received a message from God to tell King Hezekiah to get his house in order because he was going to die and was not going to recover from that illness.

Well Hezekiah despite this certain message of death from both God and the great prophet Isaiah, prayed and wept bitterly for healing Isaiah 38:2-3.  He cried about how unfair his affliction was given all his years of service to God. Merciful God heard his prayer, and commanded Isaiah to tell King Hezekiah the following: "....I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add 15 years to your life."  God also defended his city which was being attacked by the Assyrians.  Isaiah 38:4-6

The passage above should inspire all of us to never surrender to illness!

We learn from the bible that nothing in the kingdom of God operates without Faith, love or PatienceWithout Faith, Love, and Patience, we cannot receive answers to our prayer(s); because our prayers will be just insincere words - and any chance of these words reaching God's ears will be short circuited by the lack of sincerity in our heart.

Be positive in your thinking. Do not allow failure, negative images, or doubt (worries) to enter your mind. Instead meditate on positive results - even before you receive them. Boldly claim your victory over the mountain that you are confronting.

James 4:7 tells us to resist the devil and he will flee (run with fear) from us. The devil fears wise Christians who know the word and know who they are (children of Almighty God). We must resist doubt as it is from the devil. 1 Peter 5:8 Tells us to be sober (alert) against evil because he constantly searches for a home inside a non-believer. We need the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:13) to overcome in this earth, which includes prayer, and the word of God among other key things. In Mathew Ch. 4 Vs. 7 the Devil even tempted Jesus at his weakest point (during a 40 day fast).  Like a roaring lion, the enemy will always attack you at your weakest point, so that is the area of our life that we must guard and protect the most!

We must meditate on God’s promises. Joshua Ch. 1 vs. 8; we should meditate on the word day and night to keep evil away, and for any other needs or wants. Meditate until the word speaks to you (through the peace of God). Jesus meditated on the word of God constantly, and he is our example (since he is our Heavenly Father). Proverbs 4:20-22 shows us that meditating on the word provides life and health! John 15:7 promises that if we abide in the word, ask whatever you desire (if it is in God's will of course!) and it shall be done.

Make every prayer a statement of faith. Thank God before you receive it knowing that you will......and you will!

So let's begin reviewing verses by relevant categories from A to Z.

Chapter 2 - Passages on Christian Character & Growth

    Spiritual Growth

Let's start off with passages on Spiritual Development:

Psalm 1:1-3  "Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.

He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper."

Proverbs 7:1-3 "My son, keep my words, and treasure my commands within you. Keep my commands and live, and my law as the apple of your eye. Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.

Hebrews 12:14-15 "Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled;"

Mathew 5:6 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

John 15:16  "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you."

2 Peter 1:5-8 "But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control,
