    Introduction

    I had so many ways to start off this introduction but I was always restarting. I’ll just say what I need to say and be done with it. My influences are Kurt Cobain, Thom Yorke, and Tim Burton. Now that’s a broad range of talent. It ranges from up and down. It goes from obscure to down right dark and moody. The one word that is constant with t hose three individuals is deep. No one would or will ever know there intentions. To me poetry in its purest and truest form is an expression of one’s inner self. Poetry takes you to a place where deception and lies can exist, but they don’t always define the nature of the story. When I write, it’s like spiritual doctor operating on me. I’m open for everyone to see. I do have a side to me that only I know, which is where my creativity is.

    My childhood spent in foster homes and group homes. I did get moved around a lot. My counselor gave me a notebook to write out why I felt the things I did when I was a teenager. It started out as a way to manage my thoughts on why I felt the things that I felt. What started out as a exercise soon turned into something else. I always thought that I was the only person that felt what I felt and had those thoughts that made me isolate myself from anyone that I thought was close to me. As a black person, were taught to suppress our emotions, especially the ones that make us appear soft. I tried at first, but as times went on,
