Children of the world, you are so often neglected

In our programmed society of success-oriented people.

Is there no room for you and your needs

As you try to grow into adulthood?

I wish I knew the answer for myself,

For though I long to have children of my own,

I fear that I too will become so busy with me

That I’ll fail to make the time to be a real mother for you.

Is the answer not to have children at all

If I cannot be the mother that I want to be?

No, that would deprive us both of so much,

For we each have so much to give one
