About this ebook

After writing my first book "Memoirs of an Immigrant" and live experiences that occurred in the wake of its publication, I realized that mine had been a daring impulse that had allowed me to check once again my inner nature. I felt an inexplicable natural happiness, would best it has to do with all creation.
Equally clearly perceived the mistakes I had made but I did and I am happy that reality.

God is great and he enlightened my mind. Got in my way at special beings that encouraged me with positive energy and inspired the emerging idea of writing again to share with you and future generations to give this work fondly; Today, after twenty-two (22) years of persevering labor I think I accomplished
that task. During all that time and regaled we enjoyed our grandchildren and family. Dedication, effort and responsibility are achieved allowed such an important day in our lives.

I am convinced that is achieved only by the love you feel for your family. I heartily wish that all families to enjoy the family unit supported on attachment and enjoy the recipes that I present, which contain the magic ingredient of "Love" for you to enjoy in this "Wednesday Family Day"

    Acknowledgments

In a very special way, I want to dedicate this humble work to God, whose infinite goodness and mercy has allowed me to realize all this, not only by the act of writing but also mainly by allowing me to enjoy my family all these years, especially on Wednesdays, Family Day.

Thanks to my younger brother Mario Andrés; with his observations and positive comments, he saw something special in our Family Day.

To my father who, without trying to teach, taught me a lot. Being the cook was one of his great qualities.

To my mother who not only gave birth to me but gave me so much love and to all my siblings.

To my beloved and remembered grandmother, who always showed and taught me something, whether good or bad, and helped me to become the person I am today.

Special thanks to my first son-in-law, Jamie Cetto II, who on August 10, 2011, advanced in the way of life. May he rest in peace. He was always one of the most happy and enthusiastic in our Family Day. For nearly twenty years, he was always happy to meet with any occurrence. He loved to eat and enjoyed each dish—carapulca being his favorite. Only God knows why things happen. He repeatedly told me, You should put your recipes in a book because they are very good. In his memory, today I made his desire; not only will he be present in our prayers, but I am including the recipe of his favorite dish.

To my life companion, my beloved wife, we made forty-five years of marriage last September. Together, we have given life to this great family.

To my beloved children, the fruit of the love that created this family; they now demonstrate their commitment—each Wednesday to keep this family practice.

Our sons- and daughters-in-law, what they represent to have been made to this family, identifying with our values and accepting our tradition from the first day they came to this family.

Each of our dear grandchildren, for their love and joy but above all for the opportunity for their care and happiness. We’re happy seeing them enjoy all the dishes and hospitality we offer every Wednesday. This unequivocally is the best gift God has given us all these years because we thoroughly enjoyed every one of those days.

To my family in general, to my friends, and even to all those people that could exist at any time, any dispute or disagreement of ideas or values because they always transmitted and offered me something I learned to channel in positive ways.

Finally, special thanks to all the people who one way or another, direct or indirect, have done and helped make Wednesday Family Day a reality.

    Introduction

While the Alfaro-Sosa family, which founded with my wife, gave rise to this family practice, it is no less true that the idea was conceived considering the five new families that will come from future generations.

I am a man like any other, but when I talk about my family, I stopped to be. Through this book, I share with my own words my style and occurrences and the meaning of representing the family. In advance, I apologize for any situation that might be considered wrong; as I say, it’s not my intention to contradict or offend anyone. Quite the contrary, it encourages me. It is only the desire to express in each of my words the feeling that comes from my heart.

I offer to share with you my own recipe for the preparation of a variety of exquisite dishes, which are preferred by my family. They also reveal the magic ingredient used in all my dishes, which may be easily used by any of you.

Personally, I think that generally, the vast majority of people make mistakes, often unwittingly, but all are at some point in our lives. If we take the proper time to observe and try to understand the reason for those errors, something else would be. Indeed, after this observation, I decided to write this book in order to share with you some of my ideas and experiences. I sincerely hope that any of the words that I will mention here will indicate in some form or another the awakening of one or many of the virtues that all people think and possess. If the book allows only one person reach that goal, believe that one of the main reasons why I wrote this book will have served its purpose, which makes me immensely happy.

Love, perseverance, respect, and humility not only allow getting all what it means or represents happiness, but more rather, they help directly to wake the talents that we all have sleeping and living within us. With more experiences than yesterday, my kids today can see and probably have already observed that the abuelito (grandfather) is very peculiar with their grandchildren. With each of them, I have a very "special" relationship.

I speak and treat them differently. I think of the age and personality before I speak with them.

I remember when I was becoming a father, every detail was so important—just not seen as such. Many parents believe it is preferably or just more love for one another, and that is one of the many mistakes people make in life. The father that develops with the children wasting time on prejudices is not worth it! As my grandmother said, I know what I have raised. Where you come from?

By sharing with you this, I’ll include everything about what I learned in the kitchen but is now part of my cuisine. I do so in the belief that everyone can and must develop our talents.

Today, I put that belief into practice. I believe in the inherent power that we are all human beings to convey ideas, concepts, and thoughts through words. Spiritual joy is available to anyone who wants to experience, for all, without exception, possess the ability to do what we propose. One must have faith in oneself. I am convinced that everyone likes and knows how to eat can cook.

The idea is to help awaken that art asleep. I could be inactive as a result of little or no practice of those virtues that lead us down the road of life forming and consolidating our family with the magic ingredient of love. In that sense, I hope that everyone can read the contents of this book.

I decided to publish two editions. The Spanish version, as well as in English, will be available to all in your family edition. This way, all my descendants can read in the language of their choice. Thus, not only they know the origin story of family day and the recipes in the book but which, through my words, can learn directly from the author and trunk of his family.

God has allowed me to offer
