This book, "Deliverance From Sin, is the first in the series, Practical Helps in Sanctification."

INTRODUCTION

The believer is saved from the consequence of sin (which is eternal separation from God, which will be consummated in the lake of fire) the very moment he receives the Lord as his Saviour and Lord. This is a most wonderful beginning, and most often the young believer is filled with joy. Many of his old habits disappear instantaneously, and the believer mistakenly expects things to go on that way, without any active co-operation from him. He is, therefore, shocked when he finds that he is tempted and that during temptation he may even yield and do things that he hates to do. Many are bewildered at this point, and some give up the Christian life. Others do not, but enter into an unstable life of being delivered from sin one moment and the next, falling into sin. Such a life is one of sin and repentance, sin and repentance, and sin and repentance. There is also salvation from the power of sin. The Bible says,

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal bodies, to make you obey their passions. Do not yield your members to sin as instruments of wickedness, but yield yourselves to God as men who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments of righteousness. For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace (Romans 6:12-14).
