The chatter of party guests drifted in through cracked window of the pool house bathroom as hot water streamed over Kelly’s lithe body, cleansing her skin of chlorine and other harsh chemicals. The dark red string bikini’s little ties danced in the streams of water, flicking against Kelly’s skin as she rinsed. Uncle Don was about to lead a toast to Grandpa Jim’s retirement so Kelly moved quickly, giving her blonde hair a quick shampoo to keep it from turning green before turning off the water and stepping out onto the plush shower rug. Kelly curled her toes as she let herself drip for a moment, luxuriating in the feeling of the rug’s soft piles underneath her bare feet. Her hair was still soaking wet, but a quick comb and the hot July sun would settle it nicely once she threw on her sundress and headed back outside to the party. Kelly wrapped an oversized fluffy white towel around her body and stepped out of the bathroom.

Kelly shrieked and lost her grip on the towel as she bumped into Uncle Don.

Whoa there! he said, catching her by the shoulder.

The towel seemed to move in slow motion as it fell, revealing Kelly’s nearly naked body. Rivulets of water ran down her neck, chest, and legs. Their bodies were within inches of each other in the cramped pool house hallway, and Uncle Don’s big hand on her bare shoulder made Kelly quake inside. Her face burned as she turned away and bent over to pick up the towel.

Kelly’s heart pounded in her chest. Uncle Don wasn’t actually her uncle, of course, but rather her father’s lifelong best friend and business partner.
