ALICE’S HAND WAS over her heart, now, feeling her heart pound. And, then she entered her special home with Ralph. Alice marveled that she felt like she’d lived here forever, as she walked straight through, to peek out the back. Technically, it could still be considered a new house. They’d only been here three months.

Oh. The renovation’s done?

She giggled and went to sneak a peek of Ralph’s latest surprise.

She stepped out the side patio, then froze in her tracks when she saw it.

Chills passed through her body. The blood drained from her face.

“Oh, my....”

This was no “recreational extension”, as he’d implied.

Ralph’s built a mausoleum in the back of their property! She didn’t even know you could get community rezoning for that.

Ralph. What the fuck were you thinking?

A part of her panicked. She’d expected he’d have a hard time after caring for her so arduously, to the point of endangering his own life. Yes, perhaps, an exceptionally hard time getting over her. But, this said he meant for her to rest right here when she passed away. When she died.

“A mausoleum for the both of us?”

She rubbed her forehead. Amazing. Bewildering.

He never meant to let her go. She put a hand over her mouth; not that she had anything to say. Alice was trembling when she walked back into the house.

Chapter One

RALPH GOT BUSY right away and hired a friend from the club to design a website for him for internet advertising, with a shopping cart and prime SEO for online search engines to help his new client prospects to find his new website.

He also moved Alice's few things into his much larger apartment suite so they could save on expenses and he could take care of her while working online from home, which was really cool, literally, since Ralph normally kept the central air-conditioning running high, nearly to freezing.

He was a little fanatical, a health buff, and although he could sweat for hours outside or at the gym or while doing his Chinese-y-Tai Chi-Kung Fu-Yoga - she couldn't remember the name of the techniques and forms he did-and despite all his generating natural body heat and sweat, plus cooking and eating all sorts of natural food, he liked it cool indoors.

Well, he was her warm blooded lo-oo-ve.

Ralph, it's fucking freezing in here. She was shivering.

It's that bad?

She nodded and hummed her Uh-hm, so her teeth wouldn't chatter.

Okay. I'll put the thermostat up to... just chilly?

She clapped like a joyous child.

Y'know, A, there are other ways for me to get you warm, hot and bothered even.

Really?

Oh yeah. Let me show you. He did, once she stopped giggling from his tickling her and making all sorts of juvenile faces.

Alice didn't have to worry about anything.

So when he wasn't caring for her, ordering groceries and herbs and teas and oils online, or doing his exotic exercises and trying to coax her to do them, too, day and night, he worked on his business model and remodeled it, tweaking his approach to his new income generating venture that he already had up and running.

What're you doing, Ralph?

Playing with the camera for a vid for online. See? He pulled her into his lap so she could see herself sitting on his lap on a monitor across the room.

Oh.

You doing okay, Babe?

Yeah.

How was your walk?

Fine.

Alice grinned and wiggled in his lap, until he got the desired look she wanted on his face, before she kissed him, and then realized....

Wait a minute. Ralph? Is that camera on, live and recording?!

She shrieked, fought to get off his lap and out of his arms, and dashed out. He laughed and looked into the camera lens, like he was gazing deeply into a friend's eyes.
