Moo-Moo’s Jungle describes the hardships and joys that accompany jungle life. From birth to adulthood, Moo-Moo struggled to be accepted by his jungle friends. Being different made him socially unacceptable at first.

Traveling to another country with his family, Moo-Moo met a stranger who was as different as he was. This stranger became his closest and dearest friend.

As time passed in the jungle, life included the making of lasting friendships with animals that had admirable characteristics. Moo-Moo was eventually named the most beautiful creature in the world and was asked to be the leader of the jungle.

Mary is from Northeast Alabama, and I grew up on a small farm. She is the fourth of seven children. Having god-fearing parents, we were taught to be honest and patient. Each of us had responsibilities that helped bring our family through hard times. As a child, I didn’t appreciate the work or the responsibilities placed on me. As I grew older and had a family of my own, I realized that what I was taught as a child would allow me to be a good example to my children. Hopefully, “Moo-Moo’s Jungle” will teach children across the world that, although life can be tough, good things do come to those who love and respect others.

Chapter One

The Mungle Family

Once upon a time, in a far away jungle lived a lion, a tiger, a bear, a zebra, a goat, a pig, an inchworm, a duck, a turtle, a mouse, a cow, a cheetah lion, a horse, a gorilla, a monkey, a sheep, a buffalo, a dog, a kangaroo, a squirrel, an elephant, and a Mungle family.

The Mungle family was slightly different from the rest of the animal families because Daddy Mungle was a bear and Mama Mungle was a tiger. Like all other families, the Mungles worked in the jungle to make a living. Daddy Mungle was a carpenter. He made houses and furniture out of the wood in the jungle.

Mrs. Elly, the elephant, was the schoolteacher. She was the ideal teacher, very smart, and she never forgot anything. Mr. Kangaroo was the ambulance. Because of his big pouch, he could carry sick animals to the hospital. There were no real ambulances like we have here, so Mr. Kangaroo was very happy
