About this ebook

You don’t need anybody’s permission to succeed. In fact, you will have to take your success: you will need to be a pioneer and without anyone’s permission, go where others don’t want to go and show them the way. Don’t wait for anybody to give you the permission to think, believe, see or do things like an expert or a guru.
There are only two permissions you need, the first one is that of God, and He already is telling you to go into the world and succeed. How do I know? His word says, “I am with you always”; “I will never leave you or forsake you”; and “Occupy until I return”. Those are profound words that show that you are not alone in your success walk, and that your success permit has been approved by the same Person who will help you. The second permission is from you. Until you permit yourself to succeed, no matter who supports you, your attitude will sabotage all your best efforts. I got a boost when I read this excerpt from A Return To Love, a book by motivational speaker and author Marianne Williamson:

    FOREWORD

Here is a rare chance to find a book that offers sound, practical advice on how to find your purpose in this life.

Why Am I Here? is an invaluable and extraordinary book. It lays out a simple step-by-step process by which anyone can discover, pursue and achieve his or her God-given purpose. My precious friend Dr Richie Achukwu has penned an incredible, life-changing book that is needed for this generation.

In this hectic day and age the foundations of our lives are often overwhelmed by the mundane and routine pressures of life, thus forcing people to pursue shortcuts, success and recognition.

It is therefore refreshing to read Dr Richie’s book and see his take on our life’s passion, potential and purpose. Why Am I Here? will inspire you, challenge you and change your thinking.

This book will definitely strike a chord in every reader’s heart. In the first few pages alone I could already relate to the various topics addressed. If you are seeking a major transformation of your life, Why Am I Here? will clearly show you how to get direction in challenging times. This practical book is loaded with encouragement and wisdom.

If you are at a crossroads, have made some bad choices, experienced pain, face a crisis or question your future, kindly do yourself a favour – read the book at least fourteen times, digest its contents and you will be launched into your God-ordained destiny.

May this book bring vitality and freshness to our walk with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Remember that I CAN, YOU CAN, TOGETHER WE CAN be assured of why we are here.

    INTRODUCTION

What is your purpose? Why do you exist? You did not just show up in this world. God sent you here for a reason and until you find that reason, you may never have fulfilment. Like Jesus, you have to be bold about your purpose in life.

Jesus was bold in declaring His purpose:

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10 NIV)

    Again the scripture says:

[But] he who commits sin [who practices evildoing] is of the devil [takes his character from the evil one], for the devil has sinned (violated the divine law) from the beginning. The reason the Son of God was made manifest (visible) was to undo (destroy, loosen, and dissolve) the works the devil [has done]. (1 John 3:8 AMP)

Therefore when you go to Jesus or want to engage with Him, His mission is so clear for you to know what He is all about and what He can do for you. Notice that whatever He did was in congruence with His mission and purpose, be it feeding the five thousand, healing the sick, raising the dead, letting the woman with the issue of blood touch Him, or coaching the woman caught in adultery and her accusers. Everything that Jesus did was in full agreement with His purpose. The same with you. Your purpose will chose your associations, show where you stand and what you stand for, and will reveal your values and core beliefs.

Your purpose should always be a focal point. What God has put in you is powerful beyond your belief, but you won’t fully realise it until you find the purpose of your life and become aware of who you are and the inherent possibilities within you.

We live in a society where people are takers. They only want to take.
