Chapter 1
You are free to leave the pentagram now.
Raiden joked.
Gabriel laughed as he looked over at Silva. The emotions he felt when he looked at Silva caught him completely by surprise.
Silva looked at her surroundings heartbroken by all that had taken place. Her beautiful mother was now gone. She shielded her eyes as she looked up in the sky, I love you momma.
She said as her tears flowed freely. She looked around once again at all of the destruction that one man’s greed had caused. She refused to acknowledge Dermot as her father and refused to give him another second of her life. Her father died right after she had been born. She walked as far away from the pentagram as possible. She looked around in search of Gabriel. When she saw him her heart constricted with so much love.
Gabriel looked at Silva and smiled. He walked over and kissed her full on the lips. I have wanted to do that for the longest time.
He pulled her into his arms and swung her around in circles. I think maybe we should get engaged or something. I am not quite ready for marriage but the thought of losing you had me doing a lot of thinking. I do not want to waste another minute being apart from you.
He was quiet for a few seconds before adding, I think your mom would approve.
Silva smiled sadly, I think she would too. It would have made her very happy.
She kissed Gabriel.
Melah managed to laugh, What was that? Did I hear right? Someone who was never going to get in a serious relationship was now speaking on marriage.
Everyone laughed.
Raiden frowned as Ollie appeared behind Gabriel. Neither Gabriel nor Silva noticed. When Ollie moved closer to Gabriel Raiden’s frown deepened. He instantly became alert as he looked for any signs of danger.
Out of nowhere, Gwyneth angrily came down and flew straight through Silva’s stomach quickly exiting out her back leaving nothing but a big gaping hole behind.
Raiden quickly destroyed Gwyneth.
Gabriel caught Silva and fell to his knees holding her close.
Silva was completely shocked, Gabriel?
Silva said in a breathless whisper. Tear fell from her eyes, I love you so much.
she told him then took her last breath and died.
No
Gabriel cried repeating the single word over and over as he cradled her close rocking back and forth. Everything had happen so fast Raiden had not had a chance to try to save her.
Surprisingly to everyone Ollie placed his large paw on Gabriel’s shoulder before disappearing. Melah fell to her knees beside her brother while Raiden looked on sadly.
Ryker leaned casually against a tree pleased at the day’s events. He debated whether to intervene. He considered his next move as he watched everyone. Raiden would be perfect to replace Dermot but he had other plans for him. He looked thoughtfully at Silva. She was Dermot daughter and rightfully the Princess of Diabolse. He looked over at Gabriel and frowned. Chances were Gabriel would not continue Dermot’s work so he turned his attention from Gabriel; he did not care for Cossolonians anyways. Ryker knew he would figure something out. His frown deepened, but with a flick of his finger, he closed Silva’s gaping hole then blew his breath in Silva’s direction. His vital force entered her nostrils, instantly she gave a sharp intake of breath. Ryker looked on thoughtfully before disappearing.
Raiden frowned as Silva’s wound closed and as she took her first breath. He looked around and saw a lone figure leaning against a tree before disappearing. He knew whoever the man was, was responsible for Silva’s revival. Raiden felt uneasy because he had to be very powerful to be capable of bringing someone back. Raiden remained quiet as his mind searched over the few people with enough powers to resurrect someone.
Thank you
Gabriel said looking at Raiden his eyes spoke volumes as he eyed Raiden gratefully. He was glad Silva was alive as he held her tight and kissed her. At that moment, nothing else mattered to him.
Melah looked at Raiden questioningly. She knew he could not heal someone without touching them and she also did not think he could raise someone from the dead if he could, surely, she thought he would have saved his grandfather. Melah frowned as she rubbed her belly unconsciously wondering if her baby had healed Silva.
Silva and Melah warmed the food Inie had prepared earlier that day. Silva chatted continuously it was the only way she knew to cope with the loss of her mom. Silva set the table then looked around and frowned after everyone had taken their seat. The aroma of the food smelled delicious but no one was eating. They were too quiet and without her mom being by her side made her feel as if she was about to lose it, she quickly blinked away the tears.
Silva could not handle the silence any longer. She grabbed her fork. Look my mother wouldn’t want us like this. She loved cooking and I know she would not be happy to see all of this good food go to waste. And she definitely would not like to see everyone so sad. So please…
Everyone except for Melah picked up their forks and began eating. She was a little hesitant because she had been busy and was not in the kitchen when Inie prepared this meal. Melah was not in the mood to be answering the many questions everyone was sure to ask if the baby did not like the food. She slowly picked up her fork and tried sticking it into the casserole. Her plate slid across the table. Everyone’s fork stopped in midair. Melah quickly explained how if the baby did not like certain foods there was no way she could eat.
Silva was completely fascinated. No wonder my mom was so excited about you having this baby. I had almost gotten jealous when she told me she did not need my help in the kitchen any longer then I’d walk in there only to find the two of you sitting at the table laughing together.
Melah smiled as she unconsciously rubbed her belly, Your mother was wonderful.
Silva returned the smile as she pushed Melah’s plate back in front of her, Try eating some veggies.
Melah could not eat them because as soon as she attempted, her plate started spinning. Everyone laughed except for Raiden. He grabbed the plate. Ralon behave!
He commanded.
Everyone instantly stopped laughing.
Ralon?
Melah said thoughtfully, I like it. But what if it’s a girl?
I’m confident it’s a boy.
Raiden smiled thinking of the night his unborn child appeared before him in the attic.
Melah smiled then eyed Raiden with uncertainty as she reached for her veggies. She expected the plate to go crashing against the wall but was surprised when it did not move as she began eating.
Raiden smiled as he picked up his fork. Gabriel and Silva laughed out then resumed eating as well. Melah ate everything on her plate except for the casserole. She saved that for last but as soon as she reached for it, her plate flew off the table and shattered loudly against the wall. Melah immediately stood to clean up the mess.
Silva went over to help. She glanced at Raiden as she laughed at him playfully. As soon as they finished cleaning the floor and wall, the doorbell rang. Silva went to answer it.
Ryker stood in a friendly manner looking stylish and sophisticated. His pearly whites sparkled as he smiled. Miss Silva you are every bit the princess aren’t you?
He said smoothly. I’m very pleased to finally meet you. I’m Ryker Krellings,
He held out his hand.
Silva unconsciously shivered as she shook his hand then automatically stepped aside for him to enter. She frowned wondering what had made her do that, normally she did not invite strangers in. She also frowned because his name sounded so familiar. She turned to get Raiden.
No need to get anyone, I’ve come to see you.
He smiled warmly.
Silva returned the smile wondering what he wanted with her because she never received visitors. How do you know me? Are you one of my mother’s friends?
She asked but highly doubted it. He seemed from a completely different social standing.
He smiled. I was an acquaintance of your father Prince Dermot.
Silva whole demeanor changed at the mention of Dermot. He was not my father. What do you want?
She asked coldly.
Ryker raised an eyebrow, It appears the two of you did not get along.
Silva made a distasteful face, That is definitely an understatement.
She looked him up and down coldly, I repeat, what do you want?
He smiled looking around the foyer. "I come
