About this ebook

I have been writing poems since I was 16 years old. My inspiration comes from relationships I've had in my life, to personal testimonies about god and how being a born-again christian really opened my eyes to things. Writing birthday wishes to the ones I loved before, to Romance in the Air. Remembering my mom (R.I.P.) I wrote a poem about her,and the love that we shared

I was born in Southern California in 1975 and have one sister,me being the youngest. My mother worked at Continental Airlines and my father worked as a subcontractor for Cal-Spas and Alpha Beta grocery store as a meat cutter. I grew up in a home where you were not allowed to speak unless spoken to,where you was seen but never heard, and walked on egg shells every time your father walked in the room. Unable to voice my feelings or expressions like i wanted to,I learned to write in my diary about my life's ups and downs . Throughout my diaries that I have written over the past years, I used my life's experiences, the good and the bad and made them into poems. As you read my poems, you'll be able to feel the emotions and what I was going through at that moment and some of you may relate to my story, and some of you may not. I hope you enjoy.

    PROLOGUE

At the age of 16 is when I started writing poetry, expressing my feelings from the heart, from sadness and feelings of the loss of being loved by others, to the passionate relationships that I've had in my life, to the men who treated me disrespectfully. From the time I was 5 to about 15, I was living inside a cell', metaphorically speaking, ' with me and my knife.' That's one of many poems that I've written about in my book. There are inspirational poems talking about my feelings, passion, and love, from 'Romance in the air, to 'Heartbroken from love', and to writing about the people in my life that came and went. Coming from a broken home and having a confused childhood, this was my way of letting out all of my hurts, sadness and fears. As you read my poems you will be able to hear all the different emotions that I went through in my years of being heartbroken from love, to the romance that one brings.

I grew up in Chino, California where I struggled with my parents who fought, screamed and of having endless nights of hearing sounds of crying that came from my mom because of my father treating her with disrespect. Nightmares for me came easy to dream, but I could never get used to them, even though it was the same dreams over and over again. Someone or something trying to grab me in my sleep as I try to escape, but there's nowhere to hide and this so-called thing would get bigger and closer and closer to me and as I screamed and ran, that’s when I would awaken with dripping sweat running down my whole entire body. Just then, I realized just how grateful that it was just a dream and not something real! I had a lot of emotions as a child and I felt completely alone. Writing down my feelings was the best thing I could've done in order to cope with life's challenges of pain and heartache. That’s when I started writing religiously in my diary and soon after that, I found my creative side through writing short stories and acting in drama class all through middle school. I remembered how happy I was that I was able to express my feelings without being yelled at
