Introduction

I remember many years ago when I first saw a church marquee that said, God says ... and the messages would change every few weeks. The statements on this board were not biblical passages but instead phrases and commands that were not found anywhere in the Bible. My thought at the time was one of being very troubled that anybody could have the presumptuousness to speak for God, to misrepresent him to the world when they were not asked to speak for God. I could not understand how they could so haphazardly proclaim words to others as if God was speaking when God was not.

Moses who was specifically told to speak to a rock so that water would come out for the people, struck it instead; because of his misrepresentation of God, he was not allowed to take the people into the promised land (Numbers 20:7-12). Whenever anybody places words in the mouth of God that God did not say, they are misrepresenting him as well. To write a book and present that book to others as the words of Jesus talking to them goes way beyond the standard practice of an author writing their thoughts and beliefs. They have taken their words and exalted them to the status of equality with the Bible no matter what claim they try to make otherwise. The Bible specifically warns people about falsely claiming to speak the words of God:

Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. (Proverbs 30:6)

This booklet will discuss these women's erroneous method of placing their own personal reflections and meditations into the mouth of Jesus, infusing them with a false divine authority that will mislead their readers. And any message this is supposedly directly from God or Jesus should be examined in light of God's revealed word and not simply taken as fact because somebody claims it is so or because we like what he or she has to say. We need to search the Scriptures diligently to see if what is being said is true (Acts 17:11). Because of their false claim all throughout the book that they are providing a message from Christ, I will also go over the false teachings and incorrect theological concepts that have been presented to the world under the guise of approval by God. To convey these reflections to others as the words of Jesus is extremely harmful to all who read them regardless of the innocence of their intentions.

While examining this book, we will look at what these two women have to say in light of the Scriptures to show that mingled among the encouragement to draw close to God as they understand him are numerous corruptions of biblical truth that can hinder the ability to draw close to the real God as conveyed in the Bible. Many of their teachings falsely redefine important biblical terms and introduce dangerous occult concepts. It is important to note that though there are
