About this ebook

Giving you 12 small steps that become giant leaps to help you beat the energy thieves Stress and Depression. Jess Miller gives you everything he had to learn and do to bring himself back from the darkness and says:
‘Often the simplest things in life are the most powerful, but the system we live under keeps filling our heads with so many fears, doubts and negative emotions that we become unable to see the simple, powerful things we can do to help ourselves.’
This book brings powerful perspective to your life so you can see things clearer, allowing you to prioritize the important things and let everything else go.
Then Jess gives you 12 'Neil Armstrongs' each being a simple, proactive thing you can do to help yourself and by doing so turn them into 'one small step for you, one giant leap away from Stress, Tension, Loneliness and Depression'.
For example in Neil Armstrong 1 Jess shows you a different way to carry out the simple act of making a cup of tea. He gets you to stop rushing through the process and start thinking about what you are doing and all the benefits your cup of tea holds for you. This is about slowing everything down and doing something for yourself in a new way that brings about the start of your proactive way out of the darkness.
The 12 Neil Armstrongs are almost a step by step way to stop your life continuing to be surreal when you are stressed or depressed and start it meaning something real to you again, allowing you to begin managing your energy in ways that will help you get back to the light.
This is a simple yet powerful, easy to read, understand and implement book for anyone suffering from Stress, Tension, Loneliness or Depression.
One reader told Jess it stopped them committing suicide.

Jess Miller

Jess Miller was born in North West England in 1949, used to be relatively wealthy, was stripped of his money in 1996/97 and had to learn to exist without it. In consequence of this and many other 'life occurrences' he descended into a physical fight for his life as well as going through the depression experience. He found himself going through a series of daunting, self-finding experiences and it took him 5 years to get through these and recover to an acceptable state, during which he had begun helping other people. He soon had people knocking on his door, telling him about the dreadful lives they were living and he helped them reach a better existence. Still battling 'dark energy' that has harried and hampered his efforts to complete his books and get them to those who will benefit from the message they hold he says he has had to 'live in a bubble of extreme patience whilst fighting a war of attrition against everything that tries every day to thwart my progress to help others'. His efforts to do so on a larger scale finally became reality in November 2011.

    Acknowledgements

I will be forever grateful to the great mountains, powerful rivers, forests, beaches, surging seas, gale force winds, lashing rains, freezing blizzards and burning suns that have nurtured me within their energy and taught me so much about myself.

I am also grateful to the many incredible human beings I have been lucky enough to call my friends whilst I have been here for their invaluable help with my ongoing life education and helping me stay alive against the odds.

Although their names will mean little to you I have good reason for listing a few of them here, not least because some who I previously did not know stepped out of the shadows into the light to help me in my hour of need............when they could so easily have passed by on the other side:

Jack Morris, Jimmy MacLean, Jim Duncan, Jack Crawley, Patrick & Wanda Madden, Dr.Carel Bredell, Dr.Frieda Badenhorst, Sister Esther Jones, Andrew Swart, Wendy van Breda, Elzanne van Wyk, Brian Snellgrove, Karen Wiesensee, Rita Jones, Hermann Johl, John & Sonia Dippenaar, Helga Bergh, Wiehan van Dyk, John & Lavender Buckland, Peter & Penny Neep......

Having experienced an extremely dark and dangerous time in my life between 1997 and 2002 and very nearly not being here anymore I wrote this part of the message primarily to help those who are seriously struggling, finding life really hard going and feeling stressed or depressed.

When you find yourself writing for 17 hours straight, only stopping to get something to eat or drink or go to the bathroom, and words come pouring out of you at a rate you can hardly keep up with you get a very strong feeling that what you are doing is important.

What turned out was a book that a number of readers told me helped them greatly and even stopped one or two from committing suicide, so should you find yourself dismissing some part of it as trivial please bear in mind that a fellow human being who is lost in the darkness may be finding that same part of enormous importance and benefit to their lives.

When I was on the point of checking out of this life I was diagnosed, on top of everything else, as being in depression.

I argued about this with my then doctor, Carel Bredell of Somerset West in South Africa.

    I insisted I wasn’t and he insisted I was.

I simply had no conception that I was in depression even though my life had become surreal.

So you could be stressed or depressed even if you think you aren’t and your understanding of what may be happening to those around you who might be suffering in the same way will be of immense value and will open up the opportunity for you to be able to help them with the knowledge you gain here.

Then all you have to do is tap into your inbuilt powers of love and compassion and help them on their journey.

    We’re All In This Together

    Introduction

I am not a doctor, nor a qualified therapist, I am someone who feels that the knowledge I have built up throughout my lifetime could be of significant use to you because so many people have told me it has been to them.

Manic depression, anxiety and panic attacks, bi-polar disorders and clinical depression have similar kinds of effects upon the sufferer behind those we see on the surface.

It is these effects, where they come from, what they do to you and what you can do about them that many sufferers and people in general do not understand.

So awareness will be our key

    Awareness of ‘STLD’

    Stress, Tension, Loneliness and Depression

Like most of us I have been through some wonderful and some terrible experiences in my life. Amongst the terrible was clinical depression, from which it took me some eighteen months to recover to even a vaguely acceptable state of being.

I am one of the lucky ones

Many people do not believe that depression exists.

Others think it might exist, but cannot understand what it is.

Others live within the relentless grip of depression every day.

Those who believe that depression does not exist and that it is simply something used as an excuse to get off work or off life cannot conceive that for some it is the all-consuming condition that is their very existence.

Such people do not recognise that they or someone close to them could be slipping without knowing further and further into the creeping darkness of STLD (Stress, Tension, Loneliness & Depression) and so fail to take the crucial early steps to help stop this deadly slide.

But if more of us become aware then together we can bring about the quantum change in understanding that is so necessary for each of us to be able to take preventative measures against the damage STLD can do to the energy that we are.

Through all of us becoming fully aware of STLD we will be better prepared to offer our understanding and compassion to its victims and extend a helping hand to those who are suffering from its stranglehold.

Your awareness of the effects and ravages of STLD and how it can affect you and those around you is a paramount understanding critical to building a world based on the strong foundation of the powers of Love and Compassion – the true powers we have each been given.

To get the most from this part of the message you will need to apply the greatest amount of self-honesty that you are capable of.

If you are not prepared to be one hundred percent honest with yourself then it is possible that you will never win out over STLD.

    Take my word for it.

Unless you cast off everything the system we live under has indoctrinated into you and become totally and absolutely honest with yourself, the energy thief STLD will remain in your life, sapping you of your energy and life force, debilitating you and keeping you locked in a downward spiral into the darkness.

You will need even more self-honesty and open mindedness if you are someone who does not believe that STLD exists. Without applying such totally open self-honesty you will never be truly aware of the awful reality that could be affecting a family member, a loved one or a friend and how you could have helped them through what may turn into a life threatening experience.

Do you care about your partner?

    Your children?

    Their children?

    Your best friend?

    Yourself?

As we set out together on our journey of learning about the causes of this dreadful condition, what it is like to be in the Darkness and all the things we can do to help ourselves get back to the Light, let us bear in mind at all times how extremely important it is
